Have you ever read C.S. Lewis’s “Learning in Wartime”? It contains great insight into the question of how we should spend our time with eternity at stake.
Practice the violin to the glory of God; read and make up languages to the glory of God. If all we do is study scripture and evangelize, we won’t understand the world God has placed us in enough to even relate to the unsaved people we reach out to. Besides, if we don’t pursue excellence to the glory of God, all the scholars and musicians of the world only will work to the glory of themselves.
