I’ve noticed that beauty pageants do not often help insecure people. Not many women in this world are as beautiful as Miss Universe, and idolizing her only makes girls more insecure. If being gorgeous is the way to be heard, then it should not surprise anyone when girls spend countless hours agonizing over their hair, face, and body. Not only does the outcome fall short of their “heroes,” but in the process more important areas of their lives can be neglected. I don’t know about other girls, but comparing myself to actresses has never helped boost my self-esteem. =)
