Forget Reinvention: Save The Wheel dot Com

We’re baffled. Why would anyone pick on the wheel? Timeless design, trustworthy perimeters, and a buttery smooth circumference - the wheel is perfect. And yet, some think the idea of the wheel is dated and should be scrapped. They hope to invent a hip, cutting-edge, “relevant” wheel.

Save The Wheel dot Com has been created because some people love the wheel, and they think it’s worth protecting. They need our help. The Rebelution invites you to join young people around the country as they anxiously await the unveiling of the wheel. In the meantime… Visit the site. Watch the movie. Laugh. Tell your friends. Alert your readers. Make your own movie, if you dare. Buy a shirt. Let the wheel know you care.

Better yet, do the above and then join Brett and me later this month in San Antonio, TX for the 2nd Annual Independent Christian Film Festival, as we do our part to save the wheel.

Hi I´m Chris. Greatings from Germany Bottrop !!!!

  2. Ednella Sound-Out Says:

I don’t get it. What is wrong with the wheel?? How is it dated?? What do people want to replace it with? Something square won’t work!! lol!

  3. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

Chris: Greetings! Thanks for reading our blog.

Nella: Some things just don’t need reinventing.

  4. Hannah Says:

That’s really weird…in a very funny, laugh-for-no-reason kind of way.

  5. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

It’s funny, yes… But it’s got an important point. That’s the mystery.

But here’s a hint: See that guy in the photo? That’s our older brother, Josh. If you don’t know who he is… Well, I guess this hint won’t help much.

  6. Lauren Hammerstrom Says:

wow i am confused as well…=)
maybe a little bigger hint might help..?

  7. Agent Tim Says:

Does this have anything to do with “old” and “dated” views…like uh…Christianity?

  8. Brett Harris Says:

Agent Tim: Hmmmm . . . I guess we’ll just have to wait and see . . . until the wheel is finally unveiled.

  9. Hannah Says:

*pondering the words “until the wheel is unveiled”*

..uh…are you getting a car? Or, are you making a film regarding the wheel for the film festival?

  10. J Says:

Hmm…this is perplexing! When exactly is the wheel going to be unveiled?

  11. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

Hannah: Haha… No we’re not getting a car. Nor is this directly related to the film festival.

J: Should be unveiled within the next few weeks. Meanwhile, be sure to keep up on Drowing Melville, one of the funniest (and cleanest) video shorts on the web.

  12. Nathan Straub Says:

(The answer is in Joshua Harris’s bio at Wikipedia)

  13. Hannah Says:

Thanks Nathan! Now I get it…I think….at least I’ve got a new attitude about it. ;-)

  14. Brett Harris Says:

Whatever you . . . think . . . you’ve figured out . . . do you really know what “Save The Wheel” is all about? That is the question . . . the mystery.

  15. Lauren Hammerstrom Says:

I guess you guys are just mysterious ;)

  16. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

Well… Let’s not focus on the mysterious then, shall we? Have you all watched the first chapter of Drowning Melville? What did you think?

  17. Hannah Says:

Hmmm….I saw Drowning Melville, and the only connection I saw between that and saving the wheel was that the guys in the film were trying to change something that was good enough as it was.

Question: Does this have something to do with the rebirth of “New Attitude?”

  18. Brett Harris Says:

Hannah: You’re exactly right. “Drowning Melville” is just an example of changing something that didn’t need to be changed.

You’ll notice that the other two short films that have been submitted make the same point. “Save The Wheel” is just the classic example of this principle.

As to your question: Yes, there is a connection. Check here and see if you recognize the little “Na” button.

Here’s a hint: “Na” doesn’t stand for “Not Applicable.”

  19. Agent Tim Says:

Aha! I did figure out what the Na button is…my attitude is completely new after hearing all of this.

My connection is slow, so I haven’t gotten to look at the videos. But hopefully I’ll check them out tonight.

  20. Spunky Jr. Says:

I haven’t had a chance to check out the videos yet either. But I’ve been following this and it sure is full of suspense!

  21. Ednella Sound-Out Says:

okay, I think I am starting to get it. Is this savethewheel.com something you two made up and are trying to use to illustrate something?? I am totally confused!!

    ~Nella

  22. Spunky Jr. Says:

I saw the movie. I’m with Nella. I think you two have something to do with this.

  23. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

Haha… We’re just part of the cause. It doesn’t originate with us personally. But it does illustrate something.

  24. Brett Harris Says:

Nella: It does illustrate something very powerful. With special significance to all of you.

So . . . what did you all think of the movie? I think it’s hilarious. “What’s that line shooting out of his nose?”

  25. Spunky Jr. Says:

I think I have a hypothesis…but I’m not sure. This is so suspenseful.

The movie is hilarious. Yes, I do like that part, “What’s that line shooting out of his nose?”

    Very funny :)

  26. Jake Says:

ROFL - I love it! I\’m not sure I really get the point of it, but it\’s late and I\’m half asleep waiting for my laundry to dry so I can (finally) go to bed.

The movie was very funny to say the least! I think sleep depravation made it even funnier! :-D

  27. eric Says:

i think its an add for a new tire…could be firestone or maybe goodyear….?

thanks for getting behind the cause and saving the wheel….

  28. Ednella Sound-Out Says:

Okay, this will probably sound really dorky, and it probably isn’t what saving the wheel is all about, but here is what I think it MIGHT mean.

As I was thinking about wheels this morning, I noticed that the name of the ’suporter of the week’ was Josh. Is that your brother Josh, Brett and Alex? I have no idea… I don’t know what he looks like, so it probably isn’t him. Then another thought struck me. In Ezekiel 1, there is a wheel mentioned. Here is my idea: does save the wheel have anything to do with the wheel in Ezekiel? The connection I thought of is that maybe it means that ppl should not try to stop God’s judgement, because that is what the wheel in Ezekiel is talking about.

Am I even close to being right??

  29. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

That’s probably the best guess so far, Nella. Yes, the Josh is our older brother. The Wheel is not the wheel from Ezekiel, but that’s a good guess. Remember that the wheel is symbolic and that the key is “reinvention.”

    “Don’t reinvent the wheel.”

  30. Ednella Sound-Out Says:

I’m actually close! Cool! Now to figure out the rest of the puzzle…

    ~Nella

  31. Ednella Sound-Out Says:

2 things: 1) Hasn’t the wheel been reinvented and replaced by the tire?? I guess it depends how far you take wheel. 2) You can’t really truely reinvent something, can you? ‘Cause if something already exists you can modify it, but you can’t really reinvent it.

    ~Nella

  32. Jenna Says:

okay, I realize I’m going to sound like some happy little sunday schooler who says that the answer to everything is “God! Jesus! The Bible!”

    but!

does “the wheel” = “the gospel”?

  33. Ednella Sound-Out Says:

Good idea Jenna!! That just might be it!! The gospel definantly doesn’t need to be reinvented, but all the time ppl are trying to make a ‘new’ way to come to Christ.
