Dear Alex and Brett,

Thank you so much for following Christ and for sharing and inspiring others through your blog. I can't even begin to explain how much I am thankful. I was feeling a mixture of anger and bitterness and hopelessness, and your blog, specifically this post, reminded me of Christ's victory in our lives and that to chose to fight the good fight, because of Christ, is worth it. Thank you again.

I have often wished to express the full desire of my heart to follow my Savior.

I have never seen anywhere such a statement of faith that so parallels my own.

Until now, the way you describe the confidence you have in your faith, that it is not and could never be worthwhile or righteous of your self but must be completely dependent on the One who is righteousness Him self, is beyond all acknowledgment of good and rightness that it can only be responded to with silent confirmation.

Hearing such a statement from my own age group is especially welcoming.

------------------------------------------------

Question:

I have been home-schooled my whole life and when I encounter other teens I find I am completely unable to relate to them. My goals and values in life, not to mention my interests, are so different from theirs that I cannot connect with them in any way except to pretend to enjoy those things they are so fond of. But when trying to do this I have realized, over and over, that I am living and portraying a lie to those around me. In the end I find I cannot, no matter how much try, force my self to enjoy those things.

Do you have trouble relating to people in your age group?

How do you respond to requests to join in on something that you have no interest in?
