I am not able to get anything up to see how the German is, there is always an error message. I would be interested if you are able to have this feature available in a reliable way because I had a german friend who was intersted in your blog but didn't want to tackle all the english. :P

Anonymous: The Korean translation works for me (I can't read it, but the link works).

Jacqui: I think the name Babelfish comes from the book, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. Also, I know there are little errors, but do you think that it's workable? Thanks for your feedback!

abby Hmmm . . . the German works fine for me. What browser are you using?

I know it's drawn from Hitchhiker's...that's why it's so funny.
As for it REALLY working, I'll have to take some more time to look. It seemed to catch the gist, but for French readers you'd want to be very accurate to the English version, or they'd take it seriously and really be confused. I'll read some more later today when I've finished all my chores. *grin*

Thanks, Jacqui! Yes, we did get your email. We figured the verdict would be something like that. Free online translators are invariably poor. Thanks for the analysis, we really appreciate it!

babelfish (does anyone else die laughing over that name?) is fairly well-known to do a poor job of translating stuff, and it did a so-so job in french...but it can be pretty funny. Like, the description of the pic of mr. cherrix--it implies that the friend he's embracing is their only family friend.
Just lots of little things like that....and it makes for an amusing read!
