Help Launch The Modesty Survey

TheRebelution.com's Modesty SurveyAlex and I want The Modesty Survey to impact as many people as possible. But in order for that to happen we need your help in spreading the word.

ATTENTION GUYS: Sign the Modesty Survey Petition

We’re looking for at least 100 official promoters (guys and girls) who will commit to (1) posting about the release of the survey results on St. Valentines Day, (2) sending an email blast out to all of their friends once the results are released, and/or (3) printing and handing out promo cards to friends at church and school.

We know many of you are already planning to let your friends know about the survey, but we want to partner with and help make your job as easy as possible.

1.) Post On Valentines Day

Even if you don’t have that many people reading your blog, by posting and linking to the Survey Results on Valentines Day you will help boost the survey’s rank on Google and other search engines. Don’t think you’re blog is too “small” to help.

If you haven’t already, make sure you’ve placed one of our snazzy ads on your website or blog. The ads automatically update, so by leaving it on your blog your readers will always have the latest information on The Modesty Survey.

If you are willing to post about the Modesty Survey when the results are released on Wednesday, contact us at: info [at] therebelution [dot] com. We’ll not only send you sample text for your post, but we’ll also email you the minute the Survey Results go live on Valentines Day. You’ll be among the first to know.

2.) Send An Email Blast

Email is even more targeted than a blog post. You can come up with a list of the people that would be interested in the results and then let them all know about it with a click of your mouse. You might email five friends, you might email a hundred. It all depends on how many friends you have.

If you are willing to send out an email blast when the results are released on Wednesday, contact us at: info [at] therebelution [dot] com. We’ll not only send you sample text for your email, but we’ll also email you the minute the Survey Results go live on Valentines Day. You’ll be among the first to know.

3.) Hand Out Promo Cards

We’ve found that it’s not very hard to tell people about The Modesty Survey. All you have to do is mention that they can find out what 1,500+ Christian guys think about modesty, and they’re asking you for the web address. That’s why we’ve designed some slick promo cards that you can download as a PDF and then print at Kinkos.

Click here to download the PDF file. Put the file on a USB Drive, trot down to your neighborhood Kinkos, and print as many as you need ($1.49 per sheet of 10). Make sure you print them full-size, color, and on glossy cardstock. They’ll look good and help you look good when you tell your friends at church or school.

Note: Don’t have Kinkos cut the cards out for you. It costs more and it’s easy enough to do yourself with a paper-cutter or some good scissors.

Thank You All For Your Support

The all-volunteer Modesty Survey Team has poured hours-upon-hours into facilitating this incredible discussion between Christian guys and girls—but it is you who can decide the impact the survey results will have as you faithfully spread the word to your family, friends, pastors, youth pastors, etc.

Our hope is that the powerful message of The Modesty Survey will serve as a encouragement, exhortation, and education to tens-of-thousands of Christian men and women around the world. But it is only by God’s grace, evidenced through your willingness to get behind The Modesty Survey, that we will find them.

Don’t wait! Contact us now and let us know that you’d like to serve as an official promoter: info [at] therebelution [dot] com

I am going to post about it on my xanga. and I have put up TWO snazzy ads on it! thanks for giving us ways to promote you!

  2. ECC Says:

    Only two more days!!!!

I have been visiting your blog daily for a while, but this is my first post. I don’t have a blog, but I will announce the survey tomorrow night at my youth group. I’ll also send out an email to all my friends on the 14th. I really appreciate this. I can’t wait to find out what all my brothers in Christ think about what I wear.

    Thanks again!

    ECC

  3. Brett Harris Says:

ECC: Thanks so much for reading, posting, and promoting! You might want to download and print out some of the Modesty Survey promo cards. If you take them to Kinkos it would only cost $2.98 to print 20 cards (two sheets). It would probably help for you to have something to give everyone at your youth group so they remember what it is and where to go.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  4. Becky Says:

    What a great idea, guys!

It’s only by God’s grace, and the willingness of all of *you*, that the survey was attainable! ;)

Thanks for all your hard work! Y’all are in my prayers as the work continues… finish strong to see *Him* smile!

  5. Brett Harris Says:

Becky: Thank you for your encouragement. :)

Out of curiosity, are you volunteering to be an Official Promoter? ;)

  6. Becky Says:

    *grin*

The title “official promoter” isn’t exactly necessary, but, yes, you shall be receiving an e-mail. ;)

  7. Marissa Says:

Thank you, survey team, for all your hard work and motivation!

And thanks, guys, for your time and participation in filling it out and everything!

I was going to spread the word anyway, but this will make it a lot simpler, and emailing is a great idea I hadn’t considered. : )

  8. Moe Says:

I wondered when the results would be coming out. I’m currious to see them. :-)

I live just outside of Seattle, WA and I’m very interested in possibly hosting your conference in the Northwest. I attend a large, regional church that might be interested, but I need more information. I’ve tried emailing you a couple of times, but I haven’t gotten a reply.

Could you please email me details about hosting your conference? If you have an information packet, or if there’s a phone number I could call I’d appreciate it if you could send it to me.

    ~Kelsey

  9. Caitlyn Says:

I’ve sent an email! Thank you all so much for all the work you put into this!

I would like to put one of your snazzy ads on my blog but I’m not sure how to do it. I’m using Google’s blogger service but I can’t figure out how to get the ad into the sidebar. If anyone could tell me how I would be very grateful.

    Thanks a lot!

    Ryan Eckerson

  15. Caleb Says:

I have just posted a couple links, and will post the results on my site as well tomorrow. Word needs to get out about this -it is quite worthy of attention.

I’d be more than happy to commit myself to promoting this online via my site and email.

    ~Caleb

  16. Ellie Says:

Brett: I do have a question, actually. For the announcement I’m going to make tonight, I was wondering if you have to take the survey to sign the petition. Thanks!

    Ellie (ECC)

  17. Ellie Says:

I read the petition again, and found an answer to my question. I guess I should have read it more carefully the first time. : ) Sorry!

  18. Tara Marie Says:

This is really exciting! I can hardly wait until tomorrow! :D
And I will definitely be sending out an ‘email blast’ to all my friends. Y’all can count on me as an “official promoter”. :D

  19. Stephanie Carrillo Says:

  21. Janel Says:

This is the first time that I’ve commented on this site but I wanted to say thanks for all the work that has been put into the modesty survey.

  22. Erin Koller Says:

    Okay, question????

I’ve already promoted it, it’s on my blog, its flashing away. I’ve also sent emails out. Nifty idea on the card thingy. Except I don’t have a local kinkos. :(

And, I want to be on the list to be the first to know when the results come out!!!

    Okay guys :D

  23. Ellie Connie Says:

Thank you to all of the people who have worked on this survey. :D May God be glorified in this endeavor. :)

    Anticipating tomorrow,
    Ellie Connie :)

  24. BrittLeigh Says:

Oh my, I am soooooo excited! Will definitely make a note of it on my blog. God bless you guys. This is really a neat project and I’m so thrilled that we’re down to the last day!!

  25. Christin A. Says:

    Hi Alex and Brett! ^_^

Alyssa told this to me earlier and we are willing to promote it. You’ll receive an email from her since we agreed that she’ll be the one to do it. Same as what Becky said above, the title”official promoter” doesn’t really matter. We usually promote The Rebelution whenever we are given the chance to share about it. ^_^

And also, I visited here to see if the results are out but apparently, for the time being, it isn’t yet. ^_^ It’s already Feb 14, late afternoon here in the Phlippines so perhaps, a few more hours I will go online again to see if you’ve released the results already… or perhaps tomorrow morning here since it will be the 14th there.

    God bless you always.

  26. Jenna Says:

I will definately post something on my blog about it and do anything else that I can to promote it.
Thank you for all the hard work that you have put into it and thanks to all the guys who took the survey!

  27. buffytheidiotslayer Says:

I showed the survey to my daughter and instructed her, with God’s blessing, that only stupid men tell their women what to do and wear. I also told her that God gave her a brain and that He, in all his glory, expects her to use it. Or lose it to hezbollah-type men who try to control her every wish and thoughts. May you always enjoy the loving embraces of Tammi Faye Baker.

  28. LML Says:

Hey, it’s valentine’s day, and for once I’m REALLY excited about it!
You can bet I’ll be back later today to see if the results have been released yet! :)
    God bless you all!

  29. Natasha Victoria Says:

Happy Valentines Day! I figured the results were not yet up at 5:52…:)….but decided to check anyway.

This is probably the best Valentines gift ever, and one of the best Valentines days ever.

    God bless,

    Natasha

  30. LML Says:

In response to buffyetc., I think you’ve missed the point of the whole survey. Your daughter is free to accept or reject anything the survey has to say. No one is trying to control anyone’s mind here. If you’ve actually read anything about the survey, you will see that it is NOT going to be a set of rules.
I am excited about this survey because I am interested to see what my brothers-in-Christ have to say about modesty and clothes. I have always cared about dressing modestly, and I think this survey will make it easier. I appreciate the effort that the Harrises and everybody else have put into this survey; I think it will be a great tool.
You can ignore it if you like, that’s your perogative, but I will choose to be blessed by it.
Man, I never would have expected that people would be so violently opposed to it.

Anyway, I also wanted to say to the people in charge that I really appreciate the effort that has been put into making sure that the modesty survey is NOT legalistic (the petition is great!). and I’ve been praying for ya’ll!

  31. Liz Says:

Oh I am becoming so anxious and waiting for the results!! Do you know when they are thinking about putting it up today?

Thanks for all you guys are doing…it is wonderful!

  32. Stephanie Amber Says:

LML: I completely agree with you about your response to “buffy…”. The men who answered the survey were not instructing us that we absolutely have to dress a certain way. They are trying to help us girls understand what doesn’t help them in their battle with lust.

I’m spreading the word by email and am so excited about the survey. You can ask my family what I’ve been talking about the most lately and they’d say, “The Modesty Survey”!!! :-D

  33. Natasha Victoria Says:

Liz- I echo your question! What time does it come up?!

  34. Katrina Martin Says:

Hmm, I’ve been checking peridically (um, every few minutes?) over the last few hours to check for the survey up! I can’t wait! I’m looking forward to it so much!

  35. Gabby Says:

Counting the minutes :) …less than 10 left :) (if my clock is correct :) )

  36. Liz Says:

Counting the minutes? So 10 minutes until they put it up?? Really looking forward to it, no matter what time it comes up!!

  37. Gabby Says:

Just got an email saying something about posting it @ 12:30 EST which is really close to now…but my computer clock is off :) So I may be off by a couple minutes :)

  38. ValerieW Says:

I think it was a very clever idea to create the title “official promoter”. Now when I talk about the survey, mentioning that I’m an official promoter and have committed to telling as many people about it as I can, they’re less likely to think that I’m just trying to harp on, or drop a hint at them for dressing less conservatively than I do. It makes things much easier!

    Your sister in Christ,

    -Valerie
