Modesty Survey: Results Launch Date

TheRebelution.com's Modesty SurveyOne of the purposes of The Modesty Survey is to allow Christian guys to express their gratitude to their sisters in Christ who strive to dress modestly—to let them know that their efforts are both noticed and appreciated by their brothers in Christ.

To symbolize this, we will be releasing the survey results on February 14th, St. Valentine’s Day, as a gift to all Christian girls, and especially to those whose inner qualities of godliness, humility, and love express themselves in their outward attire.

What You Can Do Now

Pray for The Modesty Survey. The survey has closed, but there is much work yet to be done. Over 160,000 answers and 25,000 text responses must be processed and finalized. Pray for the Survey Team as we continue to work. Pray that God would give us wisdom and discernment as we make decisions. Pray that God will use The Modesty Survey powerfully, to glorify His name and to bless His children.

Keep reading the blog. Over the next two weeks, we plan to post special articles and resources on the topic of modesty. We may even share some of the best text responses from the survey itself. You won’t want to miss these posts.

Spread the word. Tell your friends about the The Modesty Survey. The more people who hear about it, the more who will, we pray, be blessed and equipped by the results. Word-of-mouth is the best way to spread the word, but if you want, you can also place a snazzy ad on your website or blog.

Finally, if you are a Christian guy, whether you participated in The Modesty Survey or not, your greatest contribution to this effort is yet to come—and it will only take a minute or two of your time. Keep checking back for details.

  11. Nathan Straub Says:

If you’re looking for ways to present the survey data, you could get ideas from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (http://bls.gov). I like the way their website gives an overview presentation with various graphs, then has different parameters you can define (by region, date, etc.) to get specialized tables, and you can alternatively download the raw data in comma-separated text format, html, or pdf.

  12. wenslyn Says:

Wonderfully chosen launch date. Modesty will be a good gift on a day that the world tries to define superficially and unbiblically. I will announce this project to our fellowship girls tonight. Keep up the good work! :)

  13. Grace Says:

I’m countin’ down the days. ;) Thanks again to all of you! I know God will use this for His glory!

  14. Hazel Says:

Wow guys — This is the Valentine’s Day gift of a lifetime. Since we girls think so differently than you guys, sometimes it’s hard to know what’s ok and what’s not. This is truly an awesome gift and tool for us to have.
Gentlemen, may I also say, you two are amazing role models for our generation and we girls are so very appreciative and proud of two truly brave men who have stepped up to the plate of spiritual leadership. What a blessing this blog is for me. I can’t tell you how great it is to share high standards with such godly young men…I had started to lose hope! But as always, God is faithful and He does provide. I thank Him daily for providing you two, Alex & Brett, to lead our generation in walking worthy of the calling with which we have been called.
    A thankful sister,
    Hazel

Thanks so much for doing this modesty survey. Whenever I shop for clothes, I always have my dad come to tell me what is and is not modest. I have been surprised a few times when I have put on something that looks fine to me, but my dad says that it is not right. I am thankful for this influence, but it will also be nice to see the results from TEEN guys on Valentine’s Day! I will be sure to spread the word!
You’re doing a fantastic job, Alex and Brett! It’s only through God’s amazing strength that you can keep the Rebelution going. I’m praying for you!

I am actually looking forward to Valentine’s Day this year! :-) Wonderful day to put the survey out. I will continue to pray for the survey team. Thank you (I could say that over and over) for all the work you all have put into this!! :-D It is really appreciated by me and I know many of my sisters in Christ!! :-)

  42. Tiffany Barclay Says:

Dear Alex, Brett and everyone else who has helped,

I have been and will continue to pray for you as you finish this extensive project. Thanks so much for doing it! Honestly, I feel very humbled and honored that you have sacrificed so much time and effort to serve us girls so that we can better serve you. I know the Lord will reward you for it and I’m so very glad He will, because you all have honored Him so faithfully. I hope and pray also that as I read the results later I will be sensitive to make the changes I need to honor the Lord Jesus and serve my brothers. Thanks for helping me to better do this.

    God bless you, my friends!

  43. Bekka W. Says:

That is really fun! =) Something to look forward to!

Many thanks to all who worked on it, it’s a great project!

  44. Stephanie Amber Says:

Tiffany: I completely agree with everything you said!! :-)

  45. Ben Says:

I’m so glad you’ve presented this in terms of a gift. It’s easy to look at suggestion and guidance on modesty as oppressive or invasive; you have presented it in terms of an opportunity. Thank you.

  46. Caroline Says:

I hope you are all proud of the fact that this type of thinking enforces the rape and harassment of women in the eyes and minds of men. You are giving half of the population of the world an excuse to control and belittle the other half of the population. I think it’s time to ask yourselves, are you truely Christians, or Muslim fundamentalists? Apparently, there is a really fine line.

  47. Caitlin B. Says:

This is an amazing project. I am so thrilled that you (Brett and Alex) and your staff took the initiative to make this possible, and are seeing it through to completion. I cannot tell you how excited I am to see the results of this survey. Thanks for all your hard work, and for your humility in presenting the results.

    Caitlin B.

PS I put one of your ads on my website: www.hisimagephotography.org
Thanks for making these readily available.

  48. Kate P. Says:

Thank you so much for putting this together and for launching it on Valentine’s Day! It reminds me that I dress modestly not only to protect guys around me but to honour Christ…who will always be my Valentine. A little sappy I know however, God has really been working in my heart to help me see that he delights in me and loves me despite my sin.
I can’t wait for this to come out…I work with Junior High girls so I can’t wait to be able to help them figure what is modest!

  49. Stephanie Amber Says:

Caroline: As to whether these people who are commenting and Alex and Brett are Christians is NOT for you to decide…we are told not to judge or we will be judged in the same way (Matthew 7:1-6). You don’t have to agree with this survey, but you are making some VERY serious accusations and you’re wrong about them (I’m sorry if this sounds harsh, I’m not angry, just stating the obvious).

  50. Stephanie Amber Says:

I wanted to apologize to you Caroline. I feel like my last comment was too harsh..I really wasn’t upset or trying to sound it. I was just trying to ask you not to judge people’s hearts. Please don’t feel like I’m judging you in any way. Though I do disagree with your comment, I wouldn’t judge you just for saying something that I didn’t like. :-)

  51. Miriam Day Says:

Nothing to add but, thanks! I really appreciate all your hard work, everyone, and may God bless the results!

  52. Kari Says:

    Where are the results!?
