An Online Christian Media Store

Note from A&B: Thank you all for your prayers for our writing retreat this past week. It was a very productive and refreshing time. Continue to pray for us as we move forward—and continue to share stories and examples. Thank you everyone who has already contributed. May God bless you all!

We are excited to alert our readers to a new project we’re involved with: Glarity, a media store for talented independent Christian artists to sell their music online.

Headed up by fellow rebelutionaries Alex Poythress and his brother Michael, with technical development by David Boskovic, the store promises to be an exciting development in the area of Christian media, allowing users to submit their own media (audio and video) for approval and sale.

Brett and I are honored to be members of the original board of directors for the store and are eager to see how God will use the vision of the Poythress brothers to build His kingdom.

For now, we want to point you to Alex’s blog for exclusive updates on the status of the project, as well as articles exploring the vision and purpose of the media store.

Sounds great I will look forward to hearing more.

I am glad that you both had a fulfilling and blessed week, can’t wait to see what God spoke to you and how it is shared through your book.

Sounds interesting…would it just be music, or would it include other things, like video or even (possibly) written stuff?
Oh, and does anybody know of a good free Christian blog provider? My filter blocked wordpress because it is a free host, and I need to move…

“Would it include other things, like video or even (possibly) written stuff?”

It will include music, video, podcasts, audiobooks, and my personal favorite, a conference section for organizations to post their seminar albums at a discount.

Keep watching for updates on other unique and innovative features the media store will be providing.

    :-O WOW!!!! THAT’S AWESOME!!!!!!

That is an awesome idea. I will spread the word about it! I’ve got one friend in particular who’s got some great stuff and is begining to look into recording it. So he will definately be interested in that.

Please keep us updated! I really want to know when that’ll be up and running! I will definately look into that…

HOW COOL! Alex P.—your post (”The War of Media”) is right on. I believe this project is going to make a huge impact, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

  8. David Daniel Says:

Will we be able to upload free stuff as well?

  9. Alex Poythress Says:

“Will we be able to upload free stuff as well?”

Yes - free stuff will be integrated with the content for sale. When you submit your media, you will get to choose whether you will sell it, or make it free.

Thanks you guys for all the positive feedback. We’re looking forward to launching before long!

Great! That might make Glarity the first store to make Christian gratis content available. Make sure you add yourselves to the Creative Commons directory.
Can’t wait for the grand opening!

sounds like a great idea but its also been ”coming soon” for about three months.

  14. Andrew S. Lambert Says:

I have a question, and I was wondering if anyone could help me answer it. The band Skillet is loosely labled as “Christian,” or “Religious,” but are they really a Christian band worth listening to?

    Andrew

  15. Shepherd Ahlers Says:

Nobody Addressed Andrews question about Skillet, so I think I will.

I would say that is a way loaded question to be asking here! And also off topic, I am not thinking Skillet’s music will be on this store, but know for a fact that the guys and girls in Skillet have passion for Christ that is evident in both their interviews and the music they write… That said, not everybody will find them worth listening to. They have a great variety in their music and lyrics, and if you don’t really have a taste for the music they play or relate to their lyrics which have themes of both spiritual hunger, and also human relationships/brokeness.

“A Little More” is one of my absolute favorite songs, and it is a love song.
