rebelling against low expectations

We Are Off To Colorado Springs

Over the next few weeks Alex and I will be flying out to meet with several of the publishing houses that are interested in our book, Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations. This is an exciting time with many important decisions to be made. We covet your prayers.

Please pray for wisdom and discernment as we evaluate what each of publisher has to offer, and also for strength and endurance as we travel. Our first trip begins tomorrow at 4:30 AM. We will only have a few days between trips, with many meetings and phone calls scattered throughout.

Thank you all for your support as we make this journey. Please continue to share your stories, questions, and concerns to help us craft the message of this book into a powerful challenge and a loving encouragement to our generation.

  • Definitely in my prayers. I am so excited and thankful that God is using you guys in such an awesome way to reach out to our generation. Thanks for keeping us all updated.

  • You are both in my prayers! I am so thankful for your ministry. Keep up the good work through Christ who strengthens us!

  • I’m sure you guys are nervous…A book! I pray that you’ll have wisdom and discernment while you get your book written and published. (To be honest, I’m wondering if your guys’ writing style will echo your brothers. The way your posts flow already is similar to your brothers books.)

  • Holy cow – you guys are so lucky (and yes, I know that luck has nothing to do with it; it’s just an expression :))! I can’t believe you are actually going to have a book published! I am a bookworm to the fullest extent of the word (I even work at a library!), so for me, having a book published would be the coolest thing that could ever happen in my life. I can’t wait to see your book on the “new books” shelf at the library! I’ll be sure to recommend it to all the other book club nerds ;). I’ll be praying for you! -Alexandra

  • I will definitely keep you in my prayers. May God be with you and bless you through this time.
    God bless you both.

Keep up the good work! 🙂

  • Alex and Brett, you will definitely be in my prayers. I will pray for God’s leading and discernment for you both! Also, I will pray for an extra measure of grace to get through all of these interviews and such. It is so difficult to deal with early mornings and flying!

However, I do hope it is a great experience for you both, and that you will have great results! I look forward to hearing updates…and reading the book!

  • My prayer go out for you both! May Jesus guide your every step, inspire your every decision, and bless your every word. I pray that He will give you both calm and confident spirits, and the peace of heart and of mind that only He can give! Many blessings on you both, my brothers in Christ. Amen!

  • Erin said you where on a book writing hiadous. Hope all goes well with the publishers. Looking forward to some new reading material.

  • God bless and have a good trip! I will be looking forward to reading your book. If it’s as good as the content of this web site, then I’m sure it’ll wind up becoming a best-seller!

  • Thanks for the helpful content. It is also my opinion that mesothelioma cancer has an particularly long latency time, which means that the signs of the disease might not exactly emerge until eventually 30 to 50 years after the 1st exposure to asbestos. Pleural mesothelioma, that is certainly the most common form and is affecting the area across the lungs, will cause shortness of breath, chest pains, as well as a persistent coughing, which may lead to coughing up bloodstream.
