Pray for Evie
Evie Schmitt is Brett’s and my Ministry Assistant for the Rebelution and a close friend of the Harris family. Since joining our team in May, she has done an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes work for the conferences and book.
On Monday, Evie underwent surgery to remove her gallbladder. She returned home last night, but was taken to the emergency room this evening with severe pain and vomiting, which shouldn’t be happening. Please join us in praying earnestly for Evie, that the doctors would discover what is causing these complications, that the pain and vomiting would stop, and that God would bring total healing to her body.
Update #1 (Wednesday Morning): Evie was given a different pain medication and sent back home last night. Please continue to pray for relief from the pain and for a quick recovery. Thank you!
Update #2 (Wednesday Afternoon): Evie’s unexpected visit to the emergency room was caused by an allergic reaction to the pain medication she was originally prescribed. She is now hesitant to take any new pain medication in case it should result in a similar reaction. Though she is feeling much better than yesterday she is attempting to recover from surgery (and her allergic reaction) without any pain medication. Please pray for strength and peace.
Update #3 (Thursday Afternoon): Evie is still in extreme pain but she has been reading and responding to your emails from bed! There’s no stopping her. Keep praying for peace and strength and for complete healing.
Update #4 (Monday - August 13th): Evie is back in the office today though she is still experience pain and has to move slowly. Pray for strength and peace as she eases back into work. You can read a post by her about what she has learned through her time in bed.

I’ll be praying for Evie. I understand her hesitancy. After my shoulder surgery, I had a bad reaction to my pain medication and completely went off of any for a while. I now only rely on Ibuprofen or Tylenol, but still hardly ever use them.

Alex and Brett, thank you so much for sharing prayer requests on the website. As Christians, we are called to be the Body of Christ to each other and to the world, and prayer is a very big part of that. I am sure that Evie is grateful, and I want to thank you as well for providing opportunities to stand with our brothers and sisters in Christ through prayer.

Evie, I had surgery recently AND reacted to the pain medication just as you did- I know how much pain you’re in and will DEFINITELY pray for you! Remember He is faithful, and that He will see you through this

I will definately be praying for you Evie. remember that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever if he could heal when he walked the earth then he can heal now. He wants you whole and so do us rebelutionaries. get some rest and keep your speech positive.
