Complete: Rebelution Tour 2007

Indianapolis 2007

Over 2,000 teens and parents from 20 different states came together in Indianapolis on Saturday for the final stop of the 2007 Rebelution Tour.

Indianapolis 2007

Registration numbers moved us out of our original room several weeks before the event, so we moved to the Gathering Place, holding the conference on top of three full-sized basketball courts and an indoor soccer field.

Indianapolis 2007

Over 25 attendees gave their lives to Christ at the end of the third session. It was the highlight of the event by far.

Indianapolis 2007

Meeting and talking with our fellow teens during the breaks is our favorite part of every conference. This young woman gave her life to Christ on Saturday.

Indianapolis 2007

Some of the teens who stood to identify themselves with Christ made real sacrifices — even to the point of losing best friends who sat beside them. They are heroes — and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Indianapolis 2007

There is more to come. Thank you all for your prayers!

Praise the Lord for His marvelous works among the children of men! My family and I were able to attend the conference on Saturday. That my Dad, Mom, two brothers, one sister, and I were all there and into it was the first miracle. I praise God mightily for that. I was so touched by the entire day and I just say thank you to the Lord for His work in and through Alex, Brett, and their entire family. You guys are an incredible encouragement to me and I am so thankful for the opportunity to hear you speak and proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

  33. Mary Says:

I read my post and realized that I stated the first miracle and forgot the second I was going to mention. Oops! Hallelujah for the souls who heard the truth of God and accepted it! You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free! Praise the Lord! What an exciting time!

I’m so proud of you who did and I don’t even know you! Thank you Alex and Bret for allowing the Lord to use you and your abilities for Christ’s glory. I hope I get to go to another Rebelution Tour before I go to Africa on a mission trip.
    Soli Deo Gloria,
    Hillary

    Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

I liked how it was so audience interactive. The audio repsonse thingy and how you guys really interacted with the audience. It was pretty cool!

  43. Barb F Says:

The conference was a wonderful time for my family - and also for our youth group. We had almost 10% of our church family there. Thank you for ministering to everyone - even me! Plan on coming to West Michigan next year. I know we are ready to help host!

  44. Elisabeth Says:

Looks like the confrence was AMAZING. Really wish I could’ve been there!
It is wonderful to see how God is working through you guys for His glory. Keep up the good work, guys!

    God bless,
    Elisabeth

  45. Heather Gundlach Says:

My Dad, little sister, and I are SO glad we went! It was especially encouraging to see such a huge number of teens who were not satisfied with low expectations. As a homeschooler in a small town, I sometimes feel like the only one. I was extremely challenged yet encouraged, too. (I don’t know if this is possible to find out or not, but) Is there anyone involved in the Rebelution who lives in the Marion/Carbondale area of Southern Illinois?

  46. Jeff Says:

Was anyone else disturbed by this line?

“Some of the teens who stood to identify themselves with Christ made real sacrifices — even to the point of losing best friends who sat beside them.”

Honestly that sounds like something you would hear about a cult.

  47. Allie Says:

Hey, y’all - I just wanted to leave a note to say Thank You for all you’ve done. God has given you a mission and you’ve taken it upon yourselves. So, thank you. :-)

  48. Emma Says:

Jeff: I don’t think anything sinister was meant. They were just saying that their friends probably deserted them for coming to Christ. Yes, I was a little disturbed, but it’s the kind of disturbed feeling you have when you hear about some Christians martyred in a foreign country; a little disturbed, but very happy for them. Hope that helps :)

  49. Katy Says:

I was just wondering if more pictures are going to be put from the Indianapolis conference, like fromthe other ones.
And are we going to be able to buy teeshirts on this website, i couldn’t find that link and i wasn’t able to get one at the conference.

    Thanks!!

    katy

  50. Jacqui Dunlap Says:

Wow - isnt God so amazing? - I would love be able to come to one of your conferences!
The Pictures were amazing! Thanks so much! —Jacqui D.

  51. Autumn Says:

It looks great. I would love to be able to come to one someday.

  52. Lydia B Says:

    Jeff:

I wish you could have been there to see some of the people who stood to acknowledge Christ…if you’d only seen it, you might have been able to understand why the friends of these guys and girls were dumbfounded (and maybe disgusted) at their friend’s decision.

Let’s imagine if it was you and your friend. You come into this conference and you’re both non-Christians. Wouldn’t it come as a complete shock that your best friend suddenly decides to follow an entirely different lifestyle after just one meeting and what (you thought) were just some meaningless words about ‘that guy, Jesus’?

I don’t know you, Jeff, or your personal beliefs about God, Christ, or Christianity itself. But maybe, just maybe, instead of seeing what these guys and girls did as a ‘cultish move’ to announce themselves openly as believing in something that looks foolish to most people, maybe you could see it as the bravest and gutsiest thing these people have ever tried. They’re the ones who had to face their friends ridicule after the conference and on the ride home. They’re the ones who will have to explain their ‘rash decision’ to family and schoolmates. And they may never even get support months after we’ve forgotten their names and have left them off of our ‘remember to pray for’ lists.
Foolishness, yes, to most people. But I never could have done what they did.

  53. Rebekah Says:

    Heather!
I lived in Marion IL for 12 years….sadly my family and I moved away last year. I know exactly what you mean about being a homeschooler in a small town. Be encouraged though, you’re NOT the only one! There’s several church’s with AWESOME youth groups…have you ever been to Aldersgate UMC? Check it out if you haven’t. It’s good to hear from a fellow small town homeschooler.

  54. Colin Says:

It was awsome that is all I can say I will def be going next year

  55. Cori Says:

    Praise God!!
    Your sis in Christ,
    Cori

  56. Mrs. Joanie Gruber Says:

Okay you guys, a very boring question and two comments from one of the moms attending the conference…When do you think the DVD’s will be available? Alex, we are NOT going to turn the chairs in the opposite direction, and Brett- it’s all YOUR fault ;)

  57. Denim Says:

Ppl like you get all the brains. I just get to say tnahks for he answer.

  58. Clyde Serene Says:

Thank you for sharing it with your blogger buddies, we have a share button on the left side of the blog to make it easy to do that. thank you for your compliments about my blogging and writing.
