Your Prayers as We Write

Requesting Your Stories

After completing the rough draft of Do Hard Things at the beginning of the month, Brett and I are now in the rewriting phase of the book process — taking all the ingredients (i.e. the now-written ideas) and organizing, mixing, and baking them.

This morning we embark on a three-day writing retreat to jump-start the process. We’ll be finishing the Introduction, adding many of the examples you all have submitted, and working to polish and revamp the structure of the book.

One of the most exciting things about this book for us is all of the stories. Young people in our generation just need to see a different way and it will resonate in their hearts — and this book is full of examples of what God is doing in the lives of young people who are willing to do hard things for Him.

Please keep us in your prayers over the next few days and through October, the end of which is our final deadline. Thank you all so much. God bless!

I am really looking forward to reading this book! I’ll be keeping you in my prayers. Being an (amature!) writer myself, I know how stressful re-writing and editing can be…not always, of course, but sometimes. May God bless you and encourage you as you continue to be a blessing and an encouragement to others. DO HARD THINGS!! :)

For many years I have been encouraged by Josh’s books as he brought a much needed message to the forefront of cultural thought. I pray y’all’s current book (and any more that you write) would also be used by God to challenge this generation, and cause our faces to turn to and seek Him once more. Thank you for unashamedly standing against the cultural norm. You have already been a blessing to so many people across this nation, and probably even across the world.

I was encouraged to see you, Alex, on the Values Voter Debate. I seriously started cheering at home when I saw you and heard your question. Taking active political stances is so vitally important; it always has been. I believe that it is particularly more important now than it has been in the past, as the line between the right and wrong path is more defined than it ever has been in our nation.

May God continue to bless both of you as you endeavor to serve Him. Know that you are in my prayers. Soli Deo Gloria!
