Come to Washington!
January 8th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Totally awesome!!! I’ve been doing some hard things that have stretched me and it’s amazing see the fruit of it, especially when others see it and you can point back to God.
January 8th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Wow already got it! Come to Virginia! How far in advance do you need for information on hosting a conference?
January 8th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
Can’t wait for April 5!
What would be really fun would be to go to the Charlotte one, then go visit my relatives in MN in time for the Minneapolis one….
January 8th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Trevor: We’re coming to Portland, Oregon — which isn’t too far of a trek. We had some people drive up to 16 hours to come to conference last year. We love those people.
Josiah: We’re going to be in Gaithersburg, MD — right next to Virginia. So you should be all set!
January 8th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
I heard rumors about Southern Cal, is that still a possiblity or should we be planning on Portland?
January 8th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Ooooooh, I’ll be at Dallas!
January 8th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Denver, Co- woohoo!! I’m already getting excited about it!!
Can’t wait!!
P.S. Do you guys ever check your e-mail?
January 8th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
Come to Los Angeles, 2009!
I might be able to catch the Gaithersburg, MD one..were going back in that area this summer. It’d be awesome if the dates coincided.
I love the video!
January 8th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
I will most definitely be in Iowa. Just a little further west and you would have hit Nebraska, but oh well.
The video looks awesome. Can’t wait!
January 8th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
Hmmm. I didn’t see anything about Atlanta. No Georgia anytime soon?
January 8th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
Portland!
It was frustrating. I live about two hours away from you guys, yet I was unable to make it to any of the conferences! Now I have a chance.
January 8th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
I know it’s probably way too far ahead, but do you plan to come to Alabama in 2009?
January 8th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
When are y’all going to be in Gaithersburg, MD?
January 8th, 2008 at 3:44 pm

Jordan: We are working on something for Southern Cal, but it won’t be an actually Rebelution Conference. We’ll let you know as soon as we have something finalized.
Ali & Kyle: We were really trying to bring the tour to Georgia or Alabama this year and it just didn’t work out. (AAARGH!!!) It’s hard to explain, but it basically boiled down to not being able to find a good facility for the right dates. Eventually we just ran out of time to schedule it in. It’s very frustrating to us too!
Katherine: What are you trying to say?
January 8th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Are there going to be new topics addressed or will the conferences be similar to the 2007 tour topics?
Denver gets you guys again… what about IN?
January 8th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Rebekah: Well, 5 of the 7 locations are first-time conferences, so the presentation will be similar to 2007, but only in that we’re still addressing the ideas of “rebelling against low expectations” and “doing hard things” . . . the actual sessions will be brand new. Writing a book really helps you develop new sessions!
Also, the reason we’re not coming to Indianapolis (as much as we’d love to) is that we’re already holding events in Minnesota and Iowa. We’d end up having three events really close together geographically.
January 8th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Ahem! Only 7 hours away.
We will be there!
January 8th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
I was wondering what is the editor you use for your site? I would email you but you do not reply. Not trying to be mean.
January 8th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Josiah: Haha… We get so many emails, sometimes we can’t reply to them all.
We’re actually not sure what editor was used to build the site. We use WordPress for the Blog and PHPBB for the Forum. When we create new pages and edit, we just use a simple HTML editor for Mac.
January 8th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
OK one more question. I was wondering if I could download, already done, and edit your theme to look different for my web site? I would hopefully edit so much that it does not look like you web site. If not that is OK I was just wondering.
January 8th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Is the Iowa one the 12th or the 18th? I couldn’t read it but I am definitely going and bringing friends!
January 8th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Also (sorry for commenting of subject) did you design the theme yourselves? If so I am very impressed. It looks really good.
January 8th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
Ruthie: The Iowa Conference is actually on Saturday, July 19th.
January 8th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
Oh cool, thanks ; - ) Awesome video by the way.
January 8th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
I second Katherine- you guys should definitely come to the eastern Midwest!
January 8th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
Ugh, you guys aren’t going to make this easy for me, are you?
I guess MD is half the distance of IN, but it’s still 8 hours! What happened to NY???
January 8th, 2008 at 5:13 pm
Golly! Potland is the closest to me….in Idaho. But still, that is a long way (I think about 8 hours) However, I know it is worth it!
January 8th, 2008 at 5:29 pm
One more question. Would you be able to send the theme via FTP or via email? I would be more then happy to do it via FTP so that you don’t have to slave over trying to email it. Please email me and I could give you my credentials. Thanks (saying you would not mind) If you would not like to that is totally fine.
January 8th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Josiah: I’m not sure what you mean — or what you’d be doing with it.
January 8th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Lookng forward to more information about the idea you guys have for CA…until then looking at possibly making the trip up to Portland…
P.S. I recieved the Rebelution t-shirt….it’s great!! thanks again!
January 8th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
oops! *looking
January 8th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Yeah!! Charlottesville, NC isn’t too far away from Virginia!! (However, do you guys have any plans to EVER come here??)
January 8th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Please come to Virginia!!
January 8th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Who made the promo video? Bravo to that person, because it’s very professionally done. =D I’m glad you guys are finally doing a conference at home—after all these years!
January 8th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
You guys are coming to Colorado on my b-day! Thanks!
I hope I get to make it!
By the way I really liked the promo video.
~Hillary
January 8th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
Come to Greenville,South Carolina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 8th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
The video’s great! So sad that the Georgia or Alabama conference didn’t work out. =(
January 8th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
Laura, my friends down there wish so too! But Charlotte isn’t that far away…
January 8th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I’M SOOO STOKED!!!!!!!!! i was sooo bummed last year that you guys wheren’t any were i could get to . Yay for MN!!!!!!!!! i soooo hope i can come!!!!
January 8th, 2008 at 9:02 pm

it’s really not that far from us and i know it will be worth it!!
January 8th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
Awesome promo, guys! By the way, when will the sessions from the 2007 Rebelution Tour be for sale?
January 8th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
GREAT promo! Fabulous editing and design job. I can’t believe the 2008 tour is kicking into gear already.
But oh…*sob*…no Indianapolis…guuuuuuuuuuys!! You’re breakin’ my heart.
Okay, okay. I do get the reasoning - I guess this gives me an interesting challenge for the summer. If God wants me there, I’ll make it.
January 9th, 2008 at 5:08 am
So when are you guys going to come up farther east? It would be nice to have you!
The promo was great. Who’s the band singing in the background?
January 9th, 2008 at 6:28 am
Question. When does registration open?
January 9th, 2008 at 6:29 am
When are y’all going to MD? It’s a little far from where I live, but that’s still pretty close to VA.
January 9th, 2008 at 6:46 am
Josiah: Tada! The newly launched conference section: http://www.therebelution.com/conference
January 9th, 2008 at 8:13 am
Awesome video!
By the way, I’d emailed you guys over a month ago about possibly bringing the tour to Connecticut. Is it too late to set it up now? Just wondering.
Thanks!
January 9th, 2008 at 8:43 am
Yeah!! I’m so excited that you’re coming to NC!! Lenoir-Rhyne is only an hour and a half away from me. I will so be there! I talked to my mom and my family’s in too! I’m counting down the days. -The video is great.
* I got my shirt last week and I love it!
God Bless!
January 9th, 2008 at 9:33 am
Well, I think that Katherine gets the prize for the most “to-the-point” comment ever on the Rebelution blog!
*Question to anyone who knows*: what code do you use to make text bold on here?
 doesn’t seen to work…………
January 9th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Use the ‘arrows’ I’m not sure what they’re called. I think they work. I’ll see as soon as I post this!
January 9th, 2008 at 10:43 am
Yeah… they work.
But I don’t think they’d show up if I tried to show you what I’m talking about: but here’s a try anyhow.
January 9th, 2008 at 10:51 am
Nope. Sorry. I guess someone else’ll have to explain.
I am SO hopeless!
Anyhow… I live in Denver, and I really want to go to the conference except that I don’t think I could go for the music. I am really conservative so far as music is concerned, so if the music is like the music in the promo… I wouldn’t want to or be allowed to come.
I love the message that you guys are sending to teens, but for some people (like me) who are super-conservative, it’s a kinda rough going. You see, I know that you are ‘in the world but not of it’ in many ways, but with the way things look on your site, or even on your T-shirts… it looks pretty modern. I can’t condemn you at all. In fact, I wish I could afford a shirt.
I just wanted to let ya’ll know that my mom isn’t very excited about you just because you look so … modern, I guess.
Anyhow… I know you’re not going to change everything around or anything - I’m just one voice amongst thousands. I just wanted to tell you where I stand - just in case you’re interested.
January 9th, 2008 at 11:33 am
Hey guys, on the video on the conference page is not playing all the way through for me. It stops right after Alex says “where teens and their parents come together t” then it stops.
January 9th, 2008 at 11:45 am
I can’t wait for the Iowa conference!!! Only 30 minutes away instead of a day’s worth of driving that it would have taken last year. I was a little surprised to find that you are coming to Iowa though.
Kelsey D
January 9th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
January 9th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Ok, sorry about that. I was testing the arrows, but it just made my text disappear. Weird.
Mimi: About the music at the conferences: watch the 2007 promo video. That is an actual song sung during the 2007 tour.
Hope that helps!
January 9th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
I have to be there. Somehow!! But I want to meet someone I know from the Cafe small groups!!! Aaahh… and I’m away half the summer! No! I’ll make it somehow. Yep! Very excited.
Mimi: Alex and Brett have said that if you can’t afford a T-shirt, they’re willing to sell it for less, or even free. Email them about your situation.
January 9th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Mimi, I don’t like rock-ous music much either, but I would encourage you to put it in perspective and try to go. (obviously without nagging or rebelling against your parents)Of one thing you can be sure: even if the worship team uses drums and some electronic instruments, this group will have theologically sound and inspiring songs, not just fluff. Wear earplugs — even if it means feeling like a nerd, which is a ‘hard thing’!!!
I might be able to come this year.
January 9th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Yayy! Ya’ll are coming to Denver again. I missed it last year because I was with my family adopting a little girl in Ethiopia (any other trip, and we would probably have cancelled it to come to the conference…no joke.) I am so excited to come to the conference this year! You guys are doing some really exciting things for Christ, and I have high expectations for the conference! I know it will be used by God in huge ways. Peace to you!
January 9th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Hey do you think you guys could come to Alberta, British Columbia, or Washington, Montana, that general vicinity? I would love to come to a conference but they are a bit to far. Hey I could even help find a place.
January 9th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
hmm, just saw that you’ll be in Oregon that might be close enough.
January 9th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Wow! This year, I would only have to travel four hours, instead of fourteen! That’s quite a cut. Praying that I can go! (And maybe bring some friends…)
January 9th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
Umm…sorry. I don’t mean to post twice, but from my last comment it sounds like I maybe didn’t go last year. But I did! We traveled those 28 hours there and back, and I tell you, it was worth every single minute!
January 9th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
Emma: Did you do the arrows exactly the way you did it the other way? (ie. you tried ) You need to do the arrows in exactly the same place you do the brackets with the text in between. I know that you understood what I meant by arrows, though, ’cause your text disappeared! That’s what happens… I do it all the time.
I hope that I’m not being too confusing!
I’ll watch the 2007 promo and see. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sheila: About the T-shirt… I’ll have to think about it, but I just hate to seem like I’m taking advantage of a situation. Is that pride?
January 9th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
lol… other people use this computer and don’t take their information out. And I forgot to put my information in. So… that’s actually me up there.
January 9th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
Testing
I did it! Woohoo!
:D
January 9th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
katherine, I do believe that is spamming
I loved it!!
January 9th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
I just want to kindly point out that on the page promoting the Mpls stop, you have two different dates posted. I think you are here in June, but thought you might want to know it also says May 3rd.
Thanks,
Bronte
January 9th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
I posted the video on my blog, and the quality is actually a good deal better than it is on here. Very weird……… Thanks for making it available to everyone else!!
January 9th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Hey Alex & Brett,
Congratulations on your book and on touring again this summer!!
Are you planning on adding any more stops? (*hoping desperately for one in Phoenix Arizona*)
January 10th, 2008 at 9:08 am
Okay - seriously hoping to go this year! I think the one in Dallas would be the closest one…hmmm…:D I’ll get there somehow, though!
January 10th, 2008 at 9:20 am
Yes Caleb, I live in BC, so I was thinking the same thing, and I’m quite thrilled that they’ll be in Oregon!
January 10th, 2008 at 10:04 am
Elisabeth-If you are going to the Dallas conference, it would be fun if we could meet each other! (or anyone else who is going) I can’t wait!!! The interns at my Church are coordinating it this year. Hopefully I can help out.
January 10th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Amanda: I’m going to the Dallas conference! I’d love to meet anyone else there - thanks for suggesting it!
January 10th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Amen! If I can come, I’m so looking forward to meeting everyone! Fellowship with other believers is so amazing. God is so kind in that way - giving us friendships based around the Gospel.
January 10th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
I was really looking forward to this year’s tour, but now I don’t if I can attend any of the conferences. The closest one is Iowa, which is almost 9 hours away. I personally don’t have a problem with the distance, but getting my parents interested is a whole different story:) They always do their best to make things work out for me, but I think a 9 hour drive might be a little to far:)
I attended the 2007 Indianapolis conference, which was only 2 hours away. Cincinnati, OH would be a great place for a conference though:) There is a church in that area that would work great for a conference… unfortunately I don’t attend or know anyone who does. My mom doesn’t understand why the tour can’t come back to Indy.
Big disappointment…oh well. I should probably do some serious praying if I hope to attend this year.
Alright, I done:)
Oh, before I forget… are there any rebelutionaries that live in the tri-state of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky? I would enjoy getting to know them:) Preferably a girl… I’m a little old-fashioned in that area:)
In Christ,
Amanda N. Howell
January 10th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Okay, guys, sorry to give so much pressure again, but this had sure better be worth it!
We’re missing two days of our week vacation on the lake in NH to go to the MD one!
January 10th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Nella,
I’m glad I have your approval! :^)
January 10th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Amanda Howell
Are you thinking of the Vineyard Community Church or Tri-county Assembly or Landmark or Crossroads in Cincinnati?
(We ask because we are Cincinnatians!)
We are planning to go to the Iowa conference, then go south to Kansas City, MO to visit the International House of Prayer
Yeah… nine hours is pretty far…
January 10th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Are there any rebelutionary girls in Greenville South Carolina? I would like to get to know!
January 10th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”
I like that.
Hey, I’ve got a question.
If one wanted to volunteer to help at a conference, generally speaking, how early in advance should they typically contact you?
Thanks for what you do. Nice promo.
January 11th, 2008 at 10:54 am
By the way, I was wondering something: Did ya’ll email Chuck Norris personally, or is he just subscribed to you? I just watched the clip on youtube, and I wanted to know. Thanks!
Mimi
January 11th, 2008 at 11:18 am
A huge ditto to Katharine!! Come to MI!!!!
Jamie: You guys adopted from Ethiopia!! Cool! We’re adopting from there too!
January 11th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Elisabeth and Kirsten,
I was thinking of Landmark. I’ve been there a few times. My brother plays their basketball team and then I attended the Cincinnati Homeschool convention there last year. My family hopes to attend again this year.
I live in Southeast Indiana. Only about an hour west from Cincinnati:) My dad is familiar with that area since he works there.
It’s neat to know that there are rebelutionary girls that live relatively close:)
In Christ,
Amanda
January 11th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
Great video goys! I’m really hoping to go to the MN on since it’s oly about 6 hours away from me. Really looking forward to it!
Keep up the good work!!
January 11th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
Pheobe: I’ve done that! (wear earplugs for rock bands) I was at camp, (a Christian camp!) so we couldn’t get away, and we actually got in trouble for escaping the music and having a Bible study in our tent. Can you believe that? Yes, it was hard to wear kleenex in our ears, but when you stand by what you believe, that’s what happens. I love that message of Do Hard Things, and I SO hope I can make it to conference.
God bless,
Sheila
January 11th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Pheobe and Sheila: I’m not a huge fan of the type of songs sung at the conferences either, but let me assure you that you will not need ear-plugs. The only music is one guitar, and it is not at all loud or obnoxious. This is, of course, unless the music has changed drasticly since last year.
January 12th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/bedazzled/458850/
I’m counting down the days & months until the Dallas Conference! In echo with someone who commented earlier, do you guys ever check your email?!?
Just kidding. I know Y’all are really busy. It would be nice to get a reply every now and then, though!
I sent in my t-shirt pictures!!
God Bless you guys!
Amanda
January 12th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Dear Alex and Brett,
I’ve never seen this site before, but think it’s pretty cool what you guys are doing. Keep up the good work.
I noticed on your conference list that you have Baltimore as a place you will be at, but the actual host site is in Gaithersburg, MD. Unfortunately, Gaithersburg is not even close to Baltimore. So I think you should change your info., it’s misleading.
Furthermore, considering hosting a conference in baltimore or just coming to baltimore to check it out. Most people choose to ignore it because there is a lot of crime and drugs, but it’s a great opportunity to meet sinners. If anything, young people are much more needed in a city like Baltimore than a suburb like Gaithersburg.
January 12th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
Laura-
Yes, there are! Or at least 1, and I’m working on the others.
January 12th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Great to see that you are coming to Minneapolis!
January 12th, 2008 at 9:44 pm
Yeah!! You’re coming to Portland!!

I still think you should come to NY sometime.
MD is feasible, but I might be away on a family trip that week.
Ah well.
The conference section looks, good, though!

Oh wow! My question has already been answered. No Indy!
Well, I’m going to see what I can do—it’ll be a long shot, but I’d like to maybe catch up with you guys in N.C. Hey Colton—I did make it to the video! Thanks! This looks awesome, and I mean AWESOME! If he doesn’t hang out around here, then Alex and Brett, tell him I think his work was AWESOME! And the other guy…Jon—I don’t know him, but tell him he’s AWESOME, too.
I hope to see you guys in a few months! Praying for you every day!
Blessings,
Adrienne

Thanks for coming to Minneapolis to Bethlehem Baptist on February 3rd and having Pizza!! What you guys said really inspired me to start and keep “doing hard things” I have been trying to tell others about Christ at my school, and it is sometimes hard, because a lot of the time, people make fun of me, for bringing my bible to school, and wearing t shirts that say things about Jesus. What you guys said the other night really motivated me. Keep this up- I can see God shining through you!!! Thanks for doing this, and hopefully I will be able to come ot the conference on June 21st!
PS Are the books going to be available to buy at the conference?
