A New Attitude Toward Canada and California
Okay, so the goofy title actually does make a little bit of sense. Above you’ll find a promo video for Brett’s and my favorite conference: New Attitude. Not only does it bring together an unbelievable slate of modern-day heroes (John Piper, Al Mohler, Mark Dever, CJ Mahaney, older brother Josh, and Eric Simmons), but its theme is something we want to be at the heart of the Rebelution: humble orthodoxy.
The 2008 conference will take place on May 24th-26th in Louisville, Kentucky. We strongly recommend it to everyone who meets the age requirements (high school seniors and up). If you register by April 15th, you’ll save money.
What’s with Canada and California, you ask? Well, that part of the title refers to the fact that, at the beginning of the year, we had no plans to go to either place. But now we do, and we want to fill you in. Let’s go in chronological order:
April 11th: TV and Book Signing in Toronto
On Thursday, Brett and I fly to Toronto for a Friday morning interview on the Christian show 100 Huntley Street. Afterwards, we’ll be at The Family Christian Bookstore in Burlington from 11 AM to 12 PM for a special pre-release book signing.
We’d love to see you there. And if you’re reading this, we need your help to spread the word for this “late notice” event to other Canadian rebelutionaries in the area.
May 23rd-25th: Spirit West Coast (Del Mar)
Brett and I couldn’t be more disappointed that we can’t attend New Attitude this year. But we are excited about why we can’t make it: We’re going to be on the coast of southern California for Spirit West Coast (Del Mar).
We’ll be sharing briefly at the concerts on Friday night — and then twice in the big tent on Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM. This will be a great opportunity to introduce friends to the message of the Rebelution. Can’t wait to see you there!

Well, California is a great place. (In my opinion!)
I will be praying for your time in both places!

I’m finally old enough to go to New Attitude! =) I’m going with my brother, sister, and sister’s fiancee. We’ve already registered, and I can’t wait!

God bless!

Care to share how God brought you those 2 incredible opportunities? Did you email them? Did they happen upon the website? Did a friend tell them about it? God sure works in amazing ways.
April 8th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Praise the Lord for all the opportunities He is giving you!!!
I will pass the word on to my friends about Spirit West Coast. They like to go so hopefully they can hear about the rebelution message!!!
Will you be selling the new rebelution t-shirts there? Also, are there any sweatshirts this year?
Thanks so much,
Holly

So much for a summer of relaxation
I’m so happy for you two. This is a wonderful G_d-given oppertunity to spread the Word! I hope you pack your suticases with lots of books and fliers to the conferences… I’m praying you run out of materials both times.

Technically by the May 24th I’ll be a rising senior…but I don’t think that counts.
Maybe I’ll try to go next year.

Very awesome. Can’t wait till I’m old enough to go! Will be praying for your mininstry this summer.

It was a hard decision but dad and I decided to attend Witherspoon this year. It’s the same week as NA. The deciding factor was that our tuition for Witherspoon was given to us as a gift. HOWEVER! We do plan to attend a NA conference in the future. I will most likely listen to the conference again on CD and hope that you all will consider live blogging again.
April 8th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
Oh, I suppose I should have read the entire blog. So you’re not going either. Well, either way, will listen on CD.

And one more thing…my sister posted on your blog last. That’s why the link to my name in the previous post I made goes to her blog ModesTeen. LOL! I didn’t change the URL link when I wrote the last two post. Man, I believe in modesty, but I don’t write for ModesTeen. LOL

Only three more years to go and I will be able to attend. I hope your brother is still doing NA conferences by then

I’m so sorry to have to post again so soon….. but would you mind letting me know if the date for the Dallas conference on the video or the conference page is the correct one? Thanks.

A friend and I are going to Na this year! I’m very excited. Too bad we missed the rebelutionary get together last year…

New Attitude sounds sweet. I just became familiar with it this year. I’m thinking about going and taking my brother with me, it’d be a lot of fun.
April 9th, 2008 at 7:28 am
Thanks!!! Somehow I had a feeling that the video was wrong.

I’m already registered, and I should be going if I am better by that time (accident has left me not walking and having other problems, but I hope most of them have gone away by the end of May). Two of my older siblings have been there before, and they love it (one has been going for years). My older sister and her new husband is going for her last time ( our church is having her go because she a secretary there and I do not know why else), and I hope my brother and his fiancee are going. It should be great!
April 9th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
i hope you’re better by then, nan! i am praying for your complete healing!
can’t wait for na! last year was a life changing experience, and this year i know so many more of the singles at my church, and other churches, that i expect the fellowship to be especially sweet.

Everything is so far away from me (and I am not a flyer to begin with!) However, I would love to go to NA. My friends will have to fill me in….for now at least!
April 9th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
I is going! Wahoo!
Wait what is it again?
…Kidding…
April 9th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Sorry you guys won’t be at Na, but my copies of Do Hard Things should arrive soon, and then I will feel like I have met you, only it would be through your book… Um yeah. But I hope you guys enjoy your time at Spirit West Coast! Sounds like a very worthy event, I just don’t live anywhere near the vicinity of California.
Louisville KY is just as good this year though. *smile*
God bless

Hey I hope I can go. My dad goes to the seminary there where Albert Mohler is the president man.
