Funny pic about the book. What is Brett holding?

  2. Elisabeth Says:

Love the last picture. Never knew you used violent threats to get books purchased…haha. =)

  3. Roy Griffin Says:

Those are very interesting statistics. I totally agree too!

  4. Brett Harris Says:

Talitha: It’s a foam rocket launcher. Actually, at one point I accidentally fired it and hit a lady in the front row! She was alright (and got a free book!). =)

  5. Anya Says:

I am laughing… wow. Way to go, Brett!

By the way, my younger brother saw your picture in WORLD the other day. “Hey, who are those?” he asked. “The Hardy boys?” *sigh* Do Hard Things… Hardy boys…

  6. Meshaay Says:

Funny story about your brother Anya =)

Hey Brett and Alex, do you guys ever plan to do anything in Virginia?

  7. cj Says:

Cool pictures! I didn’t go to the conference, but those pictures are making me ache to go. Love the humor =)

  8. Meshaay Says:

    Or somewhere close to there?

  9. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

Meshaay: We’re going to be pretty close, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on July 26th.

You can find all the details here:

    http://www.therebelution.com/conference

  10. Samantha Says:

I’ve been checking out your site for awhile now and it’s truly been a blessing. I’ve told quite a few of my friends about it and we all plan on getting the book. Thanks so much for doing what God has called you both to do. I will be praying that the rest of your tour is as fun and insightful as North Carolina seemed to be :)

  11. Noella A. Says:

    Or else what?

Christians aren’t supposed to use threats. :-)

    Nice pics.

  12. Joanna Says:

Noella, I’m pretty sure that you were laughing when you said that, but just to make sure, the Harris’ aren’t using threats. They were joking, that’s for sure!

  13. JosiahR Says:

OK OK, please don’t shoot! I’ll buy the book!!!! :)

  14. Hannah Michelle Says:

These pictures are great! From all the comments on the first NC post, I have no doubt this was a life-changing event. The last picture takes all…Brett really looks like he means it!

  15. YouthPastorswifeBrittany Says:

I BOUGHT THE BOOK! *whew* I’m safe. :D I am so excited. My husband is reading it next! When are you guys coming to the Chicago area??

  16. John M. Kirton II Says:

Brett, may I suggest lessons in the proper use and safety around firearms? (”at one point I accidentally fired it and hit a lady in the front row!”) Remember, VP Cheney almost got in trouble due to a firearms accident!

  17. RaisingATeen Says:

I second that YouthPastorswifeBrittany! When are you guys coming to Illinois?! Thank you so much for what you are doing. My son and I will be reading your book when it arrives later this week, and I am so encouraged to know that there are young men like you guys to exhort and challenge my guy! God bless you!

  18. Erin Says:

    75 PROFESSIONS? THAT’S AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Question? How do you all deal with follow up on the professions. I mean professions is just are AWESOME!!! I would never question what the Holy Spirit is doing in a person’s heart. And I know you all belief discipleship is very important.

  19. Alyssa C. Says:

Haha! I like that picture “Buy our Book. Or Else.”

  20. Emma Says:

Hahahaha! I love the last picture! But I already bought the book; so I guess I’m safe! ;)

  21. Chelsey Miracle Says:

haha love the last pic! I personally loved when he shot it into the ceiling and it vanished :) did you guys ever get it back? (By the way the book is SUPERB! I finished it the tuesday after the conference and I gotta say good job you guys!)

  22. Meshaay Says:

Hey does anyone know if Alex and Brett believe in the Rapture?
    I’m interested to know.
    Thanks in advance :)

  23. Noella A. Says:

Meshaay: I’m sure they do. I’d feel sorry for them if they didn’t. I know as a Christian, I look forward to that day when Jesus calls His beloved up through the clouds!

Joanna: I was laughing alright! :-)

Alex: That second picture, a close-up of your brother Joel’s profile, kind of looks like you! I had to double-check. I guess familial resemblances run strong in your family.

    God bless.

  24. Talitha Piper Says:

Wow. funny story about hitting the lady, Brett.

  25. Kole Says:

Brett, let the anger go!! Quit holding on to your anger and then releasing it one some unfortunate (or now fortunate) lady.

  26. Emily Says:

Great pictures guys! It was funny when you hit that lady, Brett and when you shot it into the ceiling…..so original, lol! I bought the book, so I guess I’m safe! ;)

  27. Jacob Says:

My brother and I used a nerf rocket for a 4-H skit once. We did not hit anyone! ;)

I hope we can make it to the conference. If we do, I’ll be sure to sit in the back where it’s safe! ;)

  28. Amanda Howell Says:

I had to do a double take with Joel’s picture as well:) It looks like he grew his hair out since September:)

    Jacob,
I’d recommend a closer seat, even if it means getting hit by a foam rocket:) That is if you haven’t met the Harris twins and would like to. The crowds can get pretty thick around them during break times:)

Last year I went up at the end of the conference. I was able to say hello to Alex and get his autograph fairly quickly, but I had to wait for Brett:) I was standing there pretty patiently and hoping my Dad wasn’t getting to worried over my delayed return, so I didn’t really mind it. However, I had just about decided I would probably miss out on meeting Brett, so I could join my group. At that moment he asked the people he was talking to, to excuse him for a moment and he turned to me.
So I was able to exchange a few words with him and get his autograph after all:) Not to mention meet up with my group without them being to worried about what kept me.

Okay, so what was my point:) My seat was towards the middle/back, if I had been closer I could’ve gotten up there quicker:) It’s really up to you, Jacob, but I recommend a closer seat:)

    Brett,
You may not remember the incident above back at the Indianapolis conference, but I wanted to thank you for it. Thank you. God Bless!

    A sister In Christ,
    A.N. Howell

  29. Sarah Says:

Hey Brett and Alex! It was so awesome seeing you at the conference in NC! It was very inspiring for me. You are an amazing blessing and it is so cool you are traveling the country to help people and spread the word of God. Thank you so much and keep up the good work! Great pics by the way!

  30. JosiahR Says:

Gaithersburg man!!!! Were do I go to contact you guys if I were to want you guys to come to KingsWay Community Church? We are getting an addition soon that will allow us to become a very large church. Not as much as Gaithersburg though, if anyone has seen that place!!!!! :D

  31. Kiefer Partridge Says:

Cool pictures. Those singers behind Joel — are they part of your touring team, or is there a spot in the Tour for, um, local talent :)?

  32. andrewong2024 Says:

    Greetings from Singapore!

Its encouraging to know how God is moving in other parts of this world!

  33. Andrew Randazzo Says:

Happy Blogger Appreciation Day! I appreciation your site and the ministry you have through your writing. Keep it up, and God bless!

  34. Emily Says:

Kiefer, Joel lead worship(he was amazing I might add ;) ), but everyone else in the band was from a local church, mine to be exact :D. But, I have no idea what they normally do…

  35. Margaret Says:

So, how effective was that last technique?

  36. Alexandra Says:

I must say I am rather ashamed of Brett - using such brutal methods to sell books! It’s absolutely shameful! Just kidding (obviously)! That last picture absolutely made my otherwise slightly miserable day! :)

  37. Chloe Engel Says:

Thank you for the photos! I was at this conference; it was such a blessing to me, praise God!

“It’s a foam rocket launcher. Actually, at one point I accidentally fired it and hit a lady in the front row! She was alright (and got a free book!). =)”

*lol* Hey, I was curious- did you get the one that went up into the ceiling? You said they probably had access to it; my dad and I almost stayed behind to help get it out, but we figured you guys would figure out a way. Do Hard Things and all that. ;)

  38. Gordon Says:

Hey, dont shoot me! I’ve already got the book AND read it. Question: Were they ever able to get that rocket down that Brett misfired?

  39. Ali Joy Says:

Wow! Sounds like I missed out on a lot of fun. I suppose we could have traveled to North Carolina, but I’m still holding on to the hope that you will come back to Atlanta, Georgia.

  40. Madison Says:

I’m looking forward to the Dallas conference! I’m telling everybody about your ministry and praying my friends will be able to come to the conference!

  41. Amanda Bush Says:

I just got my book in the mail today!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited! I have already read the first two chapters, and I can’t wait to read the rest! It is wonderful so far.

Also, if anyone else is going to the Dallas Conference, please leave a comment on my blog, with your name, and maybe a description of yourself, so that we can try to meet each other. I will be helping with the food in the break room, so I’m not sure if I will have much time to visit between sessions, but I would really love to hook up with some other local Rebelutionaries!

    Your Sister in Christ,
    Amanda

  42. Hannah Williams Says:

Talitha Piper My dad is meeting your dad in louisville at the pastors conference.I will give a note to my dad to give to your dad to give to you!!!!!!!!!

  44. Pati Says:

    please come down to miami.
    porfavor.

  45. Rose Says:

haha looks like y’all had a lot of fun. I can’t wait til the Portland conference, I’m coming down with a homeschooling family I know from Covington, and I think we’re going to help with set-up and stuff, and during the conference. The book comes out tomorrow! I’m so excited! I got the book on hold at the library and I’m one of the first people so I should get it sometime this week.

  46. Emily Says:

Wow! Did anyone remember anything BESIDES the mis-fired rocket? :D

I can’t wait to get my books in the mail!!!! Hopefully they’ll come tomorrow. After all, didn’t amazon say they would?

  47. Chelsea Says:

Random note: Something besides the rocket, although that was hilarious! I haven’t lived in NC for very long, but the boy-girl ratio always seems to lean towards the male. I’m not sure why that is, apparently there are a lot of boys in NC! Great pics, great conference!

  48. Heidi Says:

Hey I just saw the article in World Magazine about Alex & Brett. the conference, foam rockets, ect. :-)
Alex or Brett… I sent an email to ya’ll a while back about the Gaithersburg conference..Did you get it?

  49. caleb Says:

So… that is how you sell your books. That has got to be the best book promotion ever.

  50. Meshaay Says:

I want to get the book. It seems to be really good, and I want to do hard things for the glory of God. How did some of you find it? What was good about it?

  51. Kiefer Partridge Says:

    Thanks, Emily, for the info.

Probably more people than just me are wondering this, too — how would one go about volunteering to help with the conference? Set up, manning book tables, whatever?

I hope I get to go to the Denver tour date… Unfortunately, with the price of gas, I might have to take out a loan to do it… That would be a Hard Thing, right? Paying it back certainly would be! :)

  52. Leslie Says:

nice pictures mr. hatfield!!! i love it. check it out there’s our group!!!

  53. Hannah B. Says:

We taught our youth group the song that’s on the screen in the first pic on Sunday! We loved that one!

  54. Kade Says:

Great article in the WORLD magazine about your book and Youguys! How do you spell that? You-guys? Definitely not y’all!

  55. Kole Says:

Sorry that last comment was by me! I forgot my name!:)

  56. Kole Says:

    We’re brothers!

  57. elizabeth Says:

Sounds like a great time. I wish you were coming closer to where i live :( It looks like you guys have a good sense of humor as well as a fire for God. Keep up the good work, and God Bless

  58. Nicole Says:

Talitha: I was surprised you asked about the rocket launcher in the picture. Do you mean your father doesn’t use one when he speaks? =)

Hannah Williams: I’d love to be a part of your email-blog. I can’t give my email to you here, but you could probably email Elisabeth or Kirsten Gruber and ask them for my email (they have it and I’ll give them permission to give it to you if you ask).

Alex and Brett: I planned on picking up a copy of your book today, but was unable to. It’s definitely going to happen tomorrow, though, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve been so blessed by your writings already (on the blog). I can’t wait to see what’s in the book and to pass it on (as I’ve been having a lot of fun doing with some favorite articles right here).
Also, I look forward to the Portland Conference — I’m going! I’ll be sure to say hello between sessions. Quick question, though: Do you provide any sheilds for those of us who don’t approve of your tactics in book selling? =)

  59. Alex Jordan Harris Says:

Nicole: It’s great to hear that we’ll get to see you at the Portland conference! Please do say hello — though, unfortunately, we don’t have any shields for rocket-shy attendees. ;)

  60. Chelsey Miracle Says:

Kiefer Partridge: The girls behind Joel are part of a band from my church CrossWay(Charlotte, NC)…Joel was the only person in the band who wasn’t from my church.

The conference will probably be one of the best highlights of my year!

  61. Keri Says:

That was such a fantastic conference! So many of my friends for whom I had been praying for years became Christians there or soon after as a direct result of the conference.

God is using you two in awesome and wonderfully amazing ways. I am so grateful to you for all you are doing. That so awesome that your dad did a message as well! Your whole family is so gifted! I’d like to meet your mom one day. I bet she is an extraordinary woman.

Keep doing your hand exercises, you wouldn’t want your book signing hand to get out of shape for the next conference! :)

  62. Keri Says:

Oh! I forgot! That modesty survey was amazing! Convicting, but amazing. It has totally changed my mindset about modesty. It is such a good reminder for me now and I look at it often. Thank you guys for all you do!

  63. Lydia D. Says:

I love the last pic. I promise I’ll buy the book soon (today) just please don’t hurt me. :) lol By the way Alex and Brett, when are you coming to Ohio? hmm ;)

  64. Talitha Piper Says:

Nicole: my dad doesn’t. Because if he wants the people to listen I guess he has to stay safe! just kidding!

  65. rachel Says:

i have just started visiting your site, and it’s really helped me out a lot! My mom bought the book too and we’re all going to read it together. =)

I live in Gaithersburg (actually, i go to Covenant Life) and i am SO going to the conference in July! can’t wait! Keep it up you guys… God bless!

  66. Robin Says:

    Dear Alex and Brett,
I have been very encouraged by your vision and the hard work you are doing to encourage young people in the Lord. Our family attended your conference in Indianapolis last year and not only did our two daughters receive much encouragement, my husband and I did, too.
I was reading through your blog a little this morning and I noticed something that I just wanted to perhaps bring to your attention and others. When we use words to describe God and use them to describe t-shirts, do we bring the t-shirts up to God’s level or bring God down to the t-shirts level? Using the word awesome has become so common, that when we turn around and use if for God, who truly is awesome, it seems to cheapen it.

I am not meaning to sound nit-picky, just wanted to perhaps bring awareness to the common use of this word.

  67. Nicole Says:

Robin: Do you mind if I comment on your question? Alex or Brett may still want to answer it themselves (or differently) and I don’t mean to intrude, but I’ve been learning something lately that this actually reminded me of.
I’ve been reading what Hudson Taylor said in sermons about the “living water” that God offers and the “food” Jesus spoke of when He told the disciples that He had food they didn’t know about. Hudson was saying that in this world we have things like water, food, love, rest, joy, marriage, etc. These are things that are very tangible and obviously real to us. Well, in the Bible, God uses those things as illustrations (or allegories) of the more substantial (real and everlasting) gifts He offers. Just as we thirst in the physical and He quenches our thirst with earthly water, so as we more deeply thirst in our spirits He will in His way fill that longing. I’m trying to think of a good illustration to use for one good example… I guess it’s like how Jesus used the vine and its branches to illustrate the union of abiding in Him and partaking of His Fullness and how we must be a part of the Body of Christ to have life and bear fruit (a branch cut off cannot) — in that He showed us that, Here’s a vine… I created this to give you an illustration of the True Vine. He does call both the earthly “copy,” if you will, and Himself in union with the Church “vines,” but only One is the True Vine. Calling the copy a vine doesn’t make the True Vine any less True or any less a Vine.
And I also think it’s like with our families and friends we say, ‘I love you,” or about a favorite movie or book we say, “Oh, I love that!” — and we do — but it’s such a pale comparison to the love we have for our Savior. I think it’s okay to call the t-shirts “awesome,” as long as we regard God in our hearts as alone being Truly Awesome and keep Him first — which I believe that Alex and Brett do — if you have the time and you’d like to, check out these posts (listed in the right-hand side menu of articles) and see how it expands your view of The Rebelution (they are the posts that REALLY got me hooked!):

    Meet Your Commander-in-Chief
Choosing the Bible and the Bullet
To say, I Have Known God

And thanks for writing in with your concerns. It’s really a cool idea to consider what it means when we use words like that.
God bless you, Robin, and may God continue to grow you and your family in wisdom, discernment, and a hunger to put Him first and praise Him alone in all things.
    Thanks for your time!

  68. Lasonya Colle Says:

It is kind of hard to swallow the fact amount of talent that Robin Williams presented on the set throughout their whole career especially with movies like Mrs. Doubtfire despite the fact that there were a few bad ones like Insomnia. Stellar work Mr. Robin Williams!

  69. Micheal Zschoche Says:

Hi, I do think this is a great site. I stumbledupon it ;) I may return yet again since i have book marked it. Money and freedom is the greatest way to change, may you be rich and continue to help other people.

  70. Tracy Rushworth Says:

Such are truly cool YouTube video clips, its my luck to pay a quick visit this web page and finding these cool YouTube movies.

  71. Shawanda Timi Says:
