Every time I begin your book, I end up talking to a friend about it and then I give the book away! I have purchased 5 books thus far and will be heading out to Cosco this week to buy a dozen! I think I will keep one for myself this time.

For the first time every I was able to initiate a conversation with a total stranger. We talked about literature (she had a school lit book with her) and she wondered what i liked to read. I talked about your book and she seemed really interested, she said she was going to pick one up at the book store across from her school, I wished I had a copy with me. Anyway i was able to do a hard thing while i talked about DO HARD THINGS. Please pray that God uses this conversation in her life she said she was a buddhist.

Is that playmobile? Hee hee!
I can’t wait to read your book. I think its in the mail right now.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:11 am
haha, funny pic.
I’m in the middle of reading your book, and it’s helping me soooo much! I’m one of those people who has a very small “comfort zone”, and it’s really hard for me to step out of the box.
I’ve been brainstorming about areas that i could grow and do something hard for me. Thanks so much! Can’t wait for the Gaithersburg conference!

Like many other rebelutionaries, I’m reading your book as well. I think it might be the best book I’ve ever read. It’s very inspirational. -cj

Ha! That picture is awesome! I just finished your book! It’s awesome!!! I have some new ideas, so I’ll be praying about them.
I’m also going to talk to my parents about going to your Denver conference. So hopefully I’ll be there!!
Great book!

Oh, and, by the way, I didn’t actually _take_ the photo. My nine year old sister took it when I gave her the idea.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I just started reading the book today! I’m not even a fourth of the way through it, and its my favorite book now!!!
April 29th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
Heh, that’s funny. Nice one Katrina’s sister.
Well, I just got my book (your book, excuse me) in the mail today. It’s great, except for the fact that I can’t my nose out of the thing! Wow! What a well-written, utterly inspirational book. I’m too absorbed to do much of anything besides, well, read.
So, I’ve got to say thank you for what you guys are doing and have already done, not only in my life but in the lives of millions. This book is going to leave a crater in America and God’s rain of blessings will make it a lake!

This was a great book!! It is funny, because when something inspires me, I end up preaching about it for the next weeks. I preached a week ago on doing hard things, and I advertised your book. It was great. I live in Olympia, WA, one of the most unchurched places in the US and this is exactly what this culture needs to here. Jesus never said that this life was going to be easy… in fact, he said on many occasions that we would have to make hard choices to follow him. Anyway, I am rambling, but I really appreciate your book and the statement you guys lay out for young people. Thanks so much for your example…

April 29th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Are you guys going to post these pics?
April 29th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
How did you keep the book from sinking in the ocean?
April 29th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Alex and Brett, I looked for your book in Walmart.I could not find it.There pops up another reason why I dont like that store.
April 29th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
The youth group at our church has a summer reading challenge every year and this summer they are going through your book. They will have a meeting every Sunday to discuss it, which they have not done before. I am looking forward to seeing what God does through this book study in the youth of our church, particually with my two high school aged siblings. I am planning to read it, too, but it will have to wait for finals to end.

I really enjoyed the book and am going to read through it again to make sure that I didn’t miss anything.
If I can come up with something creative, I may send a pic.
- I like the viking idea!

Hannah: Actually we just heard from someone that Walmart is carrying our book now. I think it must be a real recent development. =)
Kole: We might post some of them, but you can let us know whether you want them shared or not. =)

I am actually in the midst of reading your book now!!! It really is a great call to our generation. Waking up and realizing the amazing things we can do with God’s help, and having the courage to “do hard things”, it is inspiring and what I have wished so many times to be able to say, but could never put on paper. Thankyou so much.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:56 pm
Very cool — Playmobile! =)
I sent in a picture — and had a lot of fun. Maybe too much fun. =)
April 29th, 2008 at 8:03 pm

April 29th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Alex and Brett,
I just wanted to thank you guys for letting God use you through your book and conferences. I am in the middle of reading your book and it is so encouraging and challenging! My mom, my sister, and I are going to the conference in June and I can’t wait! Our youth group had been counting down the days until the book came because we know that it would be so worth reading and it is!!!!!! Thank you again. God is working through you guys!

I’ve read it once and I want to re-read it, but my wife won’t give it back! Our 14 year old son will start reading it this week. I’ll just buy each of us our own personal copy! Please come back to North Carolina in 2009!

I haven’t gotten to finish Do Hard Things, but it’s really been good so far. I think that it is a message that needs to be spread to as many “teens” and parents as possible. I had a friend here at school (I’m attending college in Indianapolis) ask to borrow the book once I was done.
Keep it up!

oh, and I don’t mind at all if you use the photos I emailed in.
April 29th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
Cool! I sent mine! It is called the “Collaboration picture” because it took myself and four of my other brothers to make it!
April 29th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
Very fun pic Katrina!
Hey, Elizabeth! I am so proud of you!!!! I am praying for her and thanking God for what you did. Going and talking to a complete stranger is something I don’t do real well. You are definitely an inspiration to me. Way to girl!
April 30th, 2008 at 1:26 am
I received my ‘Do Hard Things’ this morning! I live in Australia, so I had to wait a lot longer than most people!
Thankyou so much for this ministry.
God Bless,
Hannah

Thanks Hillary,
I am glad that sharing is encouraging to others and that i am not the only one that finds it difficult to talk to strangers. God can use anything though, even the mouth of a shy girl
April 30th, 2008 at 7:34 am
Great pic. It’s very creative.

Your book has really inspired me. I always thought that I should do SOMETHING during my teenage years and always felt a real call to missions. I felt like i didn’t have time and I didn’t really make any for anything other than eating, hanging out, and doing school work. you book has really opened my eyes to how important it really is to do something with yourself during the teenage years and not just exceed the average expetations of being able to clean you room once a week (with out your parents help
) I do find it difficult to talk to strangers or even people I know about what I believe. I am new in the town that I live in and I want to make a good impression but i think that I am too worried about what they think and your book has shown me that I need make an impression of who I am and not whatI think other people want me to be. I am going on a missions trip this summer through Global Expedition and I hope to be more free with telling others about christ during the trip and when I come back. Your book has really helped me take the focus off myself and place it where it belongs: on God and His WILL for me, not just in my teenage years, but throughout my entire life.

Hi, Sure you can use the pictures I sent. This is funny, there are like no other Hillary’s out there, and one keeps posting that isn’t me!:-) Funny, I have a twin.

April 30th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
Yay! Another Hillary! Let’s show the world a different flavor of Hillarys! A flavor that glorifies God! I guess I’ll go as Hillary S. from now on. Hopefully nobody will get confused now.
April 30th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
The book is great! I’ve already finished it. There’s so much to learn from it. “Do Hard Things” is now my new motto. My mom’s even saying it. :>)
April 30th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Hey! I was wondering, how do we send in pictures?

Hi there my little brother’s in grace…this is your sister in grace here. I started your book a few days ago and have already been inspired and challenged in my own life. I am so incredibly proud of you and how you are using your gifts to bring so much glory to God as you influence others. The book is better than excellent and I can’t wait to read some more.
Tee tee ….
