Minneapolis Recap and Pictures
On Saturday over 2,100 teens, parents, and youth workers came together in Minneapolis for the fourth stop of the Do Hard Things Tour.

We were excited (and blown away) to have people travel from as far away as France, Germany, and West Africa to attend.

112 young people made professions of faith using the Audience Response wireless keypads. Dozens made their way to the front for prayer.

Praise the Lord for lives changed and for the grace to continue on. Next weekend is Dallas! Please keep us in your prayers!

That’s awesome to see so many youth give their lives over to God. I just want to thank you guys for how you’re being so obedient in allowing God to work through you. It’s made a huge difference all across the world and this is just the beginning. It’s time to turn this world around.
Keeping you in my prayers,
Margaret

I am so happy to say that God has used this conference to impact a friend of mine’s life. He didn’t go up at the altar call and I’m pretty sure at the time he didn’t want to be saved, but God worked on his heart and soon after the conference (the next day) he now has a professing faith in Jesus Christ. Gregg Harris’ presentation of the Gospel message was a clear and called for the lost to return home. Praise God that He has used this event to impact people from our generation and bring them into a saving relationship with Himself. God is good.

Thank you—I was a teen in the 60’s-We weren’t equipped for it; parents and youth! This is an exciting time–God, through you and others is making provision. I have listened to Gregg Harris’s homeschooling tapes since 1998 repeatedly-He is credible……Fruit! I was a seat sitting adult when he offered the call for Christians in potluck only to declare their allegiance to their personal Lord-Jesus Christ. I was grateful for the postscript re: it could have been a valid transaction, if we didn’t in fact come to the front.
My husband and son were duly impacted–that was my hope and prayer.
Thank you again—–

I don’t want to put a damper on the happiness, (and this shouldn’t) but if I remember correctly, I think the question was “How many of you would liked to be saved?” or something close to that and 112 answered “yes,” but that doesn’t necessarily mean there were 112 people saved. Just remember that whether 1 or 112, it shouldn’t matter. Numbers don’t matter when it comes to salvation.
Just keep that in mind.

The MN conference was really good! God really used it to both encourage and convict me where necessary. Thanks so much Alex and Brett for obeying God and serving others through this conference. It’s a blessing to this generation and (even more importantly) it’s honoring to God.
God bless,
Bronte

Jeremiah
The question asked was indeed “How many of you would like to be saved”, But then Mr. Harris went on to ask them, if they believed in Jesus Christ to stand. 112 was the number of people who came forward, if I’m correct.
June 25th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Hey Isaac!
You might be correct!
But I didn’t see 112 down there. Maybe I was too distracted while singing. Haha. Who knows? Either way, hearts were changed and eyes were opened to truth - praise God!
In His grip,
Jeremiah

Jeremiah: You’re absolutely right that it doesn’t matter whether it was 1 or 100. =) The number 112 was from people who answered “yes” to the question on the screen — but not that many people actually stood and came forward. The standing, however, was not what saved anyone. The standing was a recognition that God had done something in their hearts. =)
Usually we give much greater emphasis to the number of people who stood and came forward — but Minneapolis was different, primarily because the culture climate is very different. Local pastors explained that Minnesotans are more reserved and not as open with their emotions. As a result, not as many probably chose to come forward to meet us and get the book (gift) we had for them — but we all felt that, unlike most of our conferences, the more telling result was the audience response technology answers.

thats amazing!!!!!!♥ …where is your next DO HARD THINGS tour going to be?
June 28th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I had a blast at the conference!! Thanks so much for coming and signing both my friend and my books. It was an awesome end to the week after a local mission trip I had been on. I really enjoyed hearing you message.
Your book was great. I finished it within 4 days of the conference.
By the way, the rain activity at the end was so cool. I’ve been doing the sounds all week, but it doesn’t sound as cool all alone. I guess it shows what can happen when people work together on things, whether is be making rain noises or spreading God’s word throughout the world.
June 28th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
thanks so much for partnering with Bethlehem for the mn conference.
It had an awesome turnout! Thank you so much for coming! And I was really glad you guys could meet my cousin and my friends. May all the rest of the conferences be really good. You should have posted some pictures of Brett and Alex(and Alex, you did really good!)shooting the bullets up into the air.!!!!
June 29th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Hey Brett,
You are SOOOOOOOO right by the fact that Minnesotans are more reserved!!!!! I live in northern MN (I met Alex and the conference and helped with registration) and my family is a very charismatic about most things so we are kind of “Odd”. My mom jokes around about being a black Hippie (and she is norwegian) and my friends are constantly reminding me that I am not black (sadly!). We had an older woman who used to go to our church from Detroit and she was awesome. She always sat behind us and called me and my sister “Sugar”. I loved it!!! The culture is very rough and gruff, especially up north!!!!!! People are also very closed to outsiders, at least in small towns. It isn’t as bad in Minneapolis though, they are totally different from the rest on MN!
On another note: my cousin is in the 2nd picture to the top. Only about two rows back from where you (Brett) were standing. She is my favorite cousin and was the person who I first ever heard the name “Alex and Brett” from. Though now I am actually more passionate about the rebelution then she is! : )
In Christ,
Olivia

I really want to go to one of your conferences. I hope you guys come to Miami sometime soon!!
June 30th, 2008 at 12:24 pm
I only heard about you and your book on Friday 6/27, I bought it and am a third of the way through reading it. What an inspiration! I’m a 39 year old mother of 9 homeschooled kids ranging in age from 13 years to 2 months. Your ideas, and the fact that they’re coming from “teens”, encourages me to hold the line with my own kids. (something they’ll appreciate sooner than they think) I’m only sorry that we missed your conference, we’ll definately keep our eyes open for the next one in MN.
Thank you for your obedience to His voice and thanks to your parents for choosing to do the hard things in raising their children. I plan to subscribe to updates on your website because being reminded to “do hard things” (the right things with the right motives) will help me be the parent God wants for these, His children.
Blessings,
Merri

A big thank you to everyone for all the hard work put into this conference. It was very challenging. I’m now reading the book, and I’m really hoping that the enthusiasm I have now won’t wear off. “Do Hard Things” is a message that Christian teenagers (and even non-Christians as well) need to hear. God has been using you (and everyone else behind the scenes) to do great things! I’ll continue to pray for you!
In Christ,
Abby

Abby: It was our pleasure!!! I think I can say on behalf of most of the volunteers, that we enjoyed SO much being able to serve you and to serve God by serving you. I for sure LOVED it. To help with registration, though not a huge job, was the greatest blessing. I believe SO much in the Rebleution and it has changed my life SO much that it is all my pleasure to help. In Christ,
Olivia
P.S. (Alex and Brett: Do you know that Ryan Substad (one of the registration captins) looks like he could be a Harris? At least that was my opinion.)
