URGENT: Pray for Tyler Farver

LATEST: Thursday, 4:12 PM: Tests reveal today that Tyler’s stomach has healed on its own! There is now no need for a stint to be inserted in the stomach.
Tyler’s pancreas still hasn’t healed, but it looks as if he’ll be coming home on Saturday. After seven weeks in the hospital, we’re all excited for him. He still won’t be able to eat at home, as he will have a feeding tube until his pancreas completely seals. We’re still praying that that will take place without addition surgery or more future hospital stays.
Monday, 10:34 PM: Pancreas is still leaking. Still praying it seals.
Friday, 1:06 PM: This morning, one of the tubes to Tyler’s stomach came out without warning. His surgeon was then called in to re-insert the tube–a painful and disturbing experience, to say the least.
It’s just an example of the kind of experiences Tyler has on a day-to-day basis these days. Right now, he feels caught in limbo (as do we all). His pancreas must heal before the procedure can be done to open his stomach (see my entry from last Sunday for more explanation on this procedure,) but the pancreas is very slow to heal.
Please be in prayer that the pancreas will heal soon. Our family has been strengthened and continually refreshed by God and His people, but Tyler’s pain has surpassed that of childbirth and has been ongoing for the last 42 days. Tyler is exhausted and we are so very much yearning for him to be home and out of this constant pain.
“But may all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Great is the LORD!’ As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God!” -Psalm 40:16
Wednesday, 11:33 PM: The procedure on Tyler’s stomach has been delayed, as the doctors want to make sure its stitches are healed before doing anything to it. The pancreas is still leaking and Tyler is still in intense pain.
Monday, 11:55 AM: We’re still in need of much prayer. Tyler’s pancreas has begun to leak again. The doctor seems confident that this is natural, but Tyler finds the continual setbacks extremely discouraging.
Thank you for continually praying for Tyler and for showing so much love toward my family during the past five weeks. We’re all (very) ready for this to be over, but we know God is faithful and never grows tired.
2/22, 3:03 PM: On Tuesday, Tyler is due to have a procedure on his stomach. We don’t know why the stomach does not seem to be opening, but we’re praying that it isn’t due to scar tissue. If it is indeed scar tissue, we’ll be here at the hospital at least another week. If it’s not, hopefully the doctor will be able to insert a stint and Tyler will be able to drink some Sprite that same day (Tyler hasn’t been allowed food or even water for quite a while, so Sprite is a big deal). Then, the next day the goal would be to have a smoothie, and from there, real food. Needless to say, we are all hopeful that the stomach problem will prove to be minor.
Friday, 7:19 PM. Great news today! It looks as if Tyler’s pancreas has sealed. No more fluid leakage. The doctor is even considering removing his drainage tube!
During physical therapy this morning, Tyler did walk up and down a flight of stairs using his crutches. This is an incredible feat for someone who has remained mostly on bedrest for over a month–but Tyler is extremely driven to regain his strength and return home.
Today’s tests did also discover that Tyler’s stomach is not working properly (hence, his intense nausea.) We hope this will only be a minor issue and will soon be straightened out by a procedure (perhaps tomorrow morning).
Thursday, 1:20 PM. Tomorrow, Tyler’s Upper GI tract will be tested. The pancreas is still a big area of concern. Please pray that the tests will show healing in that organ. Thank you!
Tuesday, 7:51 PM: Tyler was wheeled outside today for the first time since the accident. We took him to the hospital’s garden where he sat and relished the outdoors. None of us wanted to return him to the hospital room.
Good news: Tyler’s wound is healing. We’re still lifting up his pancreas in prayer and we still have other concerns, but Tyler was elated when he found out his wound is better. “It’s progress!” he exclaimed. “It’s progress!”
Monday, 10:56 AM: For all of you who continue to check back for updates on Tyler, thanks for your faithfulness to pray. There isn’t much news to report–Tyler still has avoided surgery, but his pancreas is still leaking enough for concern. He is completely sick of being at the hospital (as you can imagine). We’re hoping that he will soon make definite progress so we can have some idea of when he can come home.
Friday, 6:06 PM: Good things are happening! As of today, Tyler’s blood count is normal! His pancreatic leakage has decreased by about 90%. We’re very thankful for this, and continuing to pray for further progress.
Thursday, 12:11 PM: We’ve been praying hard since yesterday that Tyler would be spared from another surgery. The doctor had said that barring a miracle, operation was unavoidable.
Well, today the doctor reported that he wouldn’t be doing surgery for now. Tyler seemed to have made a bit of progress overnight. Right now, we’re waiting and praying that Tyler will heal on his own and that another surgery will become unnecessary.
Wednesday, 4:06 PM. Today, we were told that a third operation on Tyler is imminent. Tests indicate that the infection is originating from the stomach/pancreas area. We’re praying that Tyler will have the strength to face this surgery and that this operation will be his last.
UPDATE: Tuesday, 11:38 AM: Last night, Tyler suddenly went into shock for no apparent reason. The nurses thought it could’ve been due to a blood clot or even the sip of Gatorade he had taken. But this morning, it happened again.
EDIT: Today, Tyler was moved back to ICU. An infection was found in his blood. He’ll be given a transfusion today.
UPDATE: Monday, 4:35 PM: My apologies for not updating sooner. I haven’t known what to say in an update, since very little has changed. Tyler has been moved out of ICU as of today, but we’re all a little hesitant to celebrate over the transition. Moving to the floor means he’s very stable, but it also means he’ll receive less care. And Tyler’s pancreas is still leaking quite a bit. Not much has changed on that front.
The doctors are unsure what to think about his pancreas because they have never heard of a trauma patient sustaining Tyler’s surgery and surviving from it. They have no other case to compare it with. We’re praying that the doctors will have God-given wisdom, and that Tyler’s pancreas will heal and seal.
UPDATE: Thursday, 3:53 PM: Thursday, 3:53 PM. My sister, Miriam and I just returned home from the Post Office with multiple letters to Tyler. Thanks for taking the time send us mail! We’ve been delivering your cards and letters to Tyler at the hospital, and they mean so much–not only to him but to my entire family.
Tyler was able to sit up today and asked to borrow my laptop to get online. He read the comment section beneath this post and was overcome by all of the notes and prayers. Not only was it a milestone (he hasn’t even had the energy to watch the TV in his hospital room, let alone sit up at a computer) but seeing the comments for himself has made all your messages hit home. We’ve told him of your prayers, but now he’s actually seen some of the comments, letters, and emails with his own eyes.
As for Ty’s health, we’re still praying his pancreas heals on its own (it’s still leaking fluid into his system) and that he will gain more strength. Yesterday we received wonderful news that his red blood cell count is higher and his white blood cell count is lower (i.e. he is slowly getting stronger, and infection is lessening.)
Even though Tyler is now at an enormous hospital (the doctors have seen it all), we were informed by Tyler’s surgeon that he is a “miracle boy.” We asked how long it usually takes for someone to have a total recovery from Tyler’s operation/injuries and they said, “We don’t know, because he is a first.”
Wow. We’re amazed, weepy and incredibly thankful whenever we consider how God has chosen to save my brother’s life. After meeting so many people whose family members in ICU have fared differently, we can’t understand why God has chosen to bless us so immensely. We know we don’t deserve it; but we’re so very grateful that Tyler seems to be slowly healing, and that in Christ, God has given us hope to stand on for whatever the future holds.
UPDATE: Monday, 10:13 PM: From Hannah. Tyler was moved via ambulance to another hospital today. We’re incredibly grateful that the ride was smooth and that his current location is 45 minutes closer to home. Our prayer requests are very much the same as before–for Tyler’s encouragement, for no further infection (it looks as if what infection he has right now is easy to treat), for his body to start absorbing more nutrition, and that the healing process will continue.
As more time passes, the more we have been given glimpses of God’s sovereignty in this situation. The very fact that Tyler has always been athletic may have helped save his life. The fact that my mom has some training as a nurse has enabled her to ask the right questions and ensure Tyler received the very best care. Even today, when in the ICU waiting room at the new hospital, we “happened” to be seated next to a family of believers. We were then able to pray and praise God together.
I do think I should mention that during our time at the hospital these past few weeks, we have met countless nurses with horror stories about other patients who have been paralyzed or killed from ATV accidents. Only today I met a woman who recently lost one friend and has another friend suffering brain damage–both due to accidents on their ATV’s. Tyler is adamant that he will never ride one again, and although we realize that the vehicles are not inherently bad, we never had any concept of how dangerous they are.
I just thought I’d throw out that information, so you can be more informed than we were.
UPDATE: Saturday, 10:29 AM: From Hannah: We are hoping to move Tyler by ambulance to another hospital either today or tomorrow. It looks as if now he is fighting an infection, on top of everything else. We’re praying continually for Tyler to be uplifted, for the infection to be entirely eliminated and for the leaking from his organs and incision to completely stop
UPDATE: Wednesday, 9:33 PM: Tyler came through surgery and is now resting up. His friend, Chris (see previous update) came to visit for the first time since the accident. It was good to see Chris up and moving well with his crutches.
I’ve been asked whether Tyler wants to receive cards, etc. The answer is an adamant “yes!” When you’re in the same hospital room 24/7, any messages from the outside world are most welcome! If you’d like to send Tyler a note, just mail them to Beauty from the Heart’s address:
PO Box 2013, Boyd, TX 76023
UPDATE (REVISED): Tuesday, 2:03 PM: It looks as if Tyler is going to have another surgery either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Only an hour or so ago, he went into for a CT scan which showed his pancreas is leaking fluid into his system and is not properly connected. I can’t express how tough this is on Tyler and the rest of us, since we had been told he could possibly be released from the hospital this week.
UPDATE: Tuesday, 9:36 AM: Update from Hannah: Tyler has been doing much better physically, so I have very little news to report. Please do keep his friend, Chris, in your prayers. Chris was also in the accident (his leg was broken in three places.) Today, he’s having another surgery on his leg.
As for Tyler, he has been improving remarkably well. (Hallucinations are gone. Yay for new pain medication!)
Initially the surgeon told us that full recovery for the injuries Tyler received usually takes a year, and that the hospital stay should be at a least a month. Now, he has cut that initial time span in half, saying that Tyler should recover in about six to eight months and leave the hospital much sooner than planned. Just the same, if you’re accustomed to being extremely athletic and then find yourself confined to a hospital bed or wheelchair all day, it’s easy to become depressed. We’re praying for continued healing, pain management, and now especially for encouragement.
UPDATE: Saturday, 3:16 PM: Update from Hannah: Sorry if this is scattered. Haven’t gotten much sleep lately.
Several people have asked me for an update, but it’s hard to give one. Tyler is doing much the same as on Thursday (see last update). Our prayers are still for deep sleep (the pain medication Tyler is taking has caused hallucinations, which isn’t conducive to rest) and for pain management. The fractured hip is excruciating to move, but the doctor wants Tyler to hobble around on crutches (to help is lungs and prevent pneumonia.)
Today, Tyler was eager to use the crutches for the first time, and his effort far exceeded the expectations of the nurses. He’s determined to recover and recover quickly. However, the walking exacerbated his hip pain and has led to a very difficult day.
UPDATE: Thursday, 6:04 PM: Update from Hannah: New x-ray has shown that Tyler’s hip is fractured. This is probably going to be a depressing setback for him, but we’re relieved that in all the critical areas, he is doing well. His surgeon is amazed at the tremendous progress.
UPDATE: Wednesday, 9:53 AM: Tyler’s pancreas is working! Praise God for an answered prayer!
UPDATE: Tuesday, 11:30 AM: From Hannah: Tyler isn’t leaving ICU yet after all. Specific prayer requests are for no infection and no pneumonia.
UPDATE: Monday, 5:11 PM: From Hannah: “Tyler is still in ICU, but it looks as if he’ll be allowed to enter a step down unit (one level lower than ICU) on Tuesday morning. We’re still praying Tyler’s pancreas will continue to function and produce insulin and that the pain will go down. This looks as if it will be a long journey of physical therapy and living in the hospital for the next month or so. In spite of this (and the fact that the hospital is 2 hours from our house,) we are unspeakably grateful that Tyler is stable and talking. The surgeon said he hadn’t seen anything like the organ damage Tyler received. We know that God has been extremely gracious to us.
“I haven’t heard all the details yet about Tyler’s friend, Chris, who was also in the accident. His leg was broken in three places, but I do know that he is now resting at home. His cast is probably a big pain, as it extends all the way up his hip. I’m sure he would be very grateful for your prayers as well.”
UPDATE: Sunday, 2:04 PM: From Hannah. “Hey everyone. I’m on the hospital computer, but I just want to thank you all for your prayers. We’re holding up and trusting in God’s sovereignty, but Tyler is so encouraged by your prayers. He can’t quite comprehend what has happened yet. He’s off the ventilator right now, but we are praying that his organs will accept the surgery. Pretty much everything–stomach, pancreas, liver, kidneys, intestines, and spleen– were either ruptured or disconnected. Please pray his body will accept the operation and begin to heal.”
UPDATE: Saturday, 11:00 PM: The surgery wasn’t a minute too soon. Tyler was almost lost. Part of his pancreas has been removed, and the blood transfusion was successful. He’s on a ventilator right now. Pray for Tyler to remain stable, get off the ventilator, and escape any infections.
Tyler Farver is a rebelutionary from Texas who helped with both of our Dallas Conferences the past two years. In the picture above he is about to fire off a “book-give-away” rocket from the balcony. His sister, Hannah, is a rebelutionary blogger, two-time Publicity Coordinator for the Rebelution Conference, and a good friend.
This morning Tyler was in an ATV accident. His condition is extremely serious — they airlifted him to the hospital and he is now in ICU, undergoing an emergency surgery. He has internal bleeding and damage to several organs. Please lift Tyler and the Farver family up in your prayers.
“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those
whose hope is in His unfailing love…” Psalm 33:18

Thank you for posting this. Tyler really needs our prayers as does his family. Last I heard, many of his organs are having difficult. I am praying that the One who knows the intricacies of his body beyond what we can even imagine will touch him with His healing power. I also pray that God’s unending love would surround him and the Farver family. Trials bring opportunities to grow in the Lord and as a family. I pray that His perfect will would be performed in this situation and that He would grant His peace that surpasses all understanding.

Hey guys, knowing that Alex and Brett are pretty busy, I just wanted to post this update found on “Beauty from the Heart”:
11:00 PM: The surgery wasn’t a minute too soon– Tyler was almost lost. Part of his pancreas has been removed, and the blood transfusion was successful. He’s on a ventilator right now. Pray for Tyler to remain stable, get off the ventilator, and escape any infections.

Heavenly Father, I pray that You would protect Tyler, that You would restore his health for Your name’s sake, and for Your glory, and that You would help his whole family to have peace and confidence in You. Provide the resources needed to cover the expenses, allow him to know and feel Your presence and the prayers which we are sending up to You on his behalf, and that he would be enabled to have a victorious testimony in You. In Your holy name, amen.

An ATV is an All Terrain Vehicle (more casually known to some as a four-wheeler.)
I can’t remember a trial or a pain
He did not recycle to bring me gain
I can’t remember one single regret

All I have need of, His hand will provide
He’s always been faithful to me.

I also pray for the Farver family that you will continue to be with them and give them a peace and calm that only comes from you. Let them feel your presence even now Father. In Jesus Name Amen.
Hannah, Tyler and Farver family please know that all of us here at The Rebelution care about you all and are “Carrying You On Our Knees”. God bless and be with you all during the healing process.

Lord, you are so good to us. I thank you for the privilege of coming before You. Lord, You know the family, friends, and Tyler better than any of us; most of us haven’t even met them. If it’s Your will, I ask that you will heal Tyler’s body. I ask that you will bring the family peace and help them with the emotional roller coaster they’re on right now. I thank you for Tyler and his willingness to serve You. Keep his spirits up and his mind on You. In Your name, Amen

Elizabeth Joy,
Tyler was riding the ATV with his friend, Christopher, when they crashed. Christopher’s leg has been broken in three places but he is now resting at home.
Alex, Brett, and Isaac,
Thank you for keeping everyone updated on Tyler’s condition. Read through the comments last night with Mom for the first time, we were both moved and encouraged by everyone’s prayers. I printed off all of the comments for Tyler and hopefully Mom can read them to him today at the hospital.

Update from Hannah: New x-ray has shown that Tyler’s hip is fractured. This is probably going to be a depressing setback for him, but we’re relieved that in all the critical areas, he is doing well. His surgeon is amazed at the tremendous progress.

January 25th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
I’m new to this blog, but I pledge to pray for you (or him). It hurts me that a brother in Christ must suffer, but through it all, he will strengthen.
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”
Romans 5:3-5
January 26th, 2009 at 6:15 am
As a bad auto accident survivor (”You shouldn’t be alive” said Docs) I’ve been praying for Tyler. Pain is doable - trust me there. The more you fight it, the more it hurts. Relax through it, give it to God & don’t wait until it hurts to take your meds (”Lord, Help him to sleep comfortably & refreshingly”> alternating meds helped me with that >nights were the worst). I am praising the Lord for sparing his life > a great testimony for him! As was said to me, “God must have more for you to do”. PTL for being used & loved by the Lord! PTL, Tyler is walking around!
January 26th, 2009 at 8:13 am
Hannah: I will be praying that you and your family will get the rest you need. Tyler I have been praying for you every time I check for an update(usually 3-4 times a day : -)

January 26th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Praise God for some improvement, albeit small!
This is something like what my family went through with my aunt last August. At 40 something she had a stroke that caused her right side to be paralyzed and loss of speech. After much prayer she came out all right and has finally gone back to teaching piano! The doctors did not expect her to live, much less gain back the use of her right side and her speech. God does work miricles and I pray that Tyler does recieve a blessing from God. I also pray that he uses this time of trial to grow stronger in his walk with the Lord.
~James 1:2-4.~

Tyler: you are doing a great job. What a great example of Gods Grace, Mercy and Power you are!!!! And a great example of what a teen can do when faced with a challenge and a “Hard Thing”
praying for you and your family. I understand a little bit about what you are talking about when it comes to hilusinations. I got those a TON of times after I had my rod fusion surger 5 years ago. I hated them but the Lord was merciful and I got to get off them early. I will certainly pray for the same thing for you.
Hannah and Farver Family: Dear Father I pray for your peace and rest to rest over all of them today and tonight, for we know that you are the Prince of Peace!!! We ask this in Jesus Name, Amen!!!
There IS a light at the end of this tunnel… it is JESUS!!! We all here at The Rebelution love and care for You all and are carrying you all on our knees in prayer. Love In Christ, Anna H.

Praying from Tennessee! It’s so easy to just get wrapped up in all your thoughts while just lying there…and lying there…praying that God will give Tyler and his family His peace! I am amazed at the amount of prayer going on…what, about 200 people posted on this, and many have gotten their youth groups and families praying!
“For ALL THINGS work together for good, to those who love God and are called according to his purpose.” ~Romans 8:28
January 28th, 2009 at 8:02 am
I’ve never prayed like that before for someone I don’t know. But I just did. Thank you, guys, for helping Tyler to get prayer support like this.

Again, thank you everyone for your prayers. As a family, we’re continually amazed by all the support we’ve received. It’s comforting for us to know that we haven’t been forgotten, and that the Body of Christ is lifting us up.

Yipee! So the surgery went okay? I just want to encourage everyone to send Tyler cards. When I go on missions trips one of my friends usually makes me a card for each day i am gone and they have spoken to me more than she will ever know. If I need encouragement then imagine how much more Tyler needs it right now.

Just read this story and will keep Tyler and Chris in my prayers. I am so sorry that this happened. I can’t imagine how hard this is for your family. As an athlete myself i can’t imagine what Tyler is going through not being able to do certain things. He seems like a strong guy and it sounds like he will get through this. Just know the Lord is with him and with your family, you are in my prayers.
January 31st, 2009 at 1:36 pm
Hey Tyler and family!
I have been praying for you to have courage for every day, and that His peace may rule in you as you go through this trial! I have been going through some tough times, too (nothing like yours! But still rather trying), and something that one of my mentors told me was, “You are privileged to be suffering. God wants you to use you, and sometimes He has to take away the parts of us that are hindering us. It’s like the statue of David Michelangelo chiseled. An amazing piece of art; his posture, his muscles and veins, the wrinkles in his skin….such detail that made the statue seem almost alive! When someone asked him how he made such an amazing object from a block of marble, Michelangelo said, ‘Oh, it was easy. David was in there all the time. All I had to do was peel away the parts that weren’t him.’ And that’s what God does to us. Through trials He peels away the parts that are not us, and we become more and more like His son Jesus.”
It’s hard to go through those times, but, Tyler, I’m SURE God has an AMAZING plan for your life! You almost died, but He is keeping here, for a reason. We will keep praying for you to have His strength and peace as you recuperate and heal.
In Christ,
Ericka
Ps. Thank you for putting up the address, Hannah!

Still praying! This must be so stressful and nerve-wracking for Tyler, Chris, and their families. But don’t worry! Everything is in the hands of God, the Author, Sustainer, and Finisher of all things, even when things don’t seem that way. He has a plan and purpose for everything.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:07 pm
So sorry to hear of the infection. I know each new part of the trial can be discouraging, but just as a goldsmith melts the ore to purge away any dross, so our Father is working in us to purify us so we can be wholly His.
Keep up the fight, Tyler! You have MANY brothers and sisters holding you up in continual prayer.
February 1st, 2009 at 6:21 am

as for an update, here is the most recent one off of Hannah’s site:
LATEST: Monday, 10:13 PM.

And it’s very good that the infection will be easy to treat!

Maybe this passage will encourage Tyler:
Isaiah 40:28-31
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired
His understanding is inscrutable.
He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
We continue to pray!

update from http://www.beautyfromtheheart.com :
Tuesday, 11:38 AM. Last night, Tyler suddenly went into shock for no apparent reason. The nurses thought it could’ve been due to a blood clot or even the sip of Gatorade he had taken. But this morning, it happened again.
EDIT: Today, Tyler was moved back to ICU. An infection was found in his blood. He’ll be given a transfusion today.
Monday, 4:35. My apologies for not updating sooner.
February 10th, 2009 at 5:08 pm

February 10th, 2009 at 6:10 pm

I’ll continue to pray for him. I hope you and the family are doing well as well.
February 10th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
I have been following Tyler’s story for a while and have been praying for his healing. I know how awful it is to have a loved one in the hospital and not know if they’re going to make it. When my sister was in the hospital due to kidney issues, there were times when the doctors thought she was going to die.
I will certainly be praying for Tyler and all of his family for encouragement, as I’m sure all the stress is taking its toll on them. I’ll also pray for Chris to have a quick recovery from his injuries.
God bless you,
Chanel

February 11th, 2009 at 9:59 am
Oh, dear Lord, I pray a hedge of protection around Tyler and his family right now. Lord I pray that Tyler would be COMPLETELY healed, with no lasting problems from his injuries. Lord, in the name of Jesus I rebuke Satan and his minions off of Tyler and his family. Lord, I pray a blessing on the doctors, that they would have clear minds and discernment in treating Tyler. Lord all this I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
February 11th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
Lord PLEASE protect Tyler. Give his family peace and the doctors wisdom. Bring Tyler back to full health. Even as we pray this may Your Will be done in this. Amen.
We love you all Farver family. Keep us posted when you can please. Anna H. Oregon.

February 12th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Just checked beautyfromtheheart
here is the latest
Thursday, 12:11 PM. We’ve been praying hard since yesterday that Tyler would be spared from another surgery.

Praying! Tyler, your life is the hands of the One who loves you perfectly. May He use this trial to strengthen your trust in Him.
When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
What ever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say
It is well
It is well with my soul
February 12th, 2009 at 8:44 pm
Praying for your continued strength & healing. Praising God for your Faith!!
February 12th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
Will be praying for you, Tyler, and your family and friend. I’m amazed at what God has done for you. He’s showing His healing power! This morning our family studied the story of Lazarus being raised from the dead. Just as Jesus was revealing His glory by raising Lazarus again, God is showing His glory through your incredible healing now.
I know I have no idea what you’re going through, and so can’t sympathize very well, but,
though things are very, very difficult, and new trials come, remember God’s wondrous love for you and that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord.
February 12th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
I’ll definitely lift him up in prayer. I had heard a story about a twelve year old overcome cerebral malaria under horrible circumstances. He was totally on the brink of death and I firmly believe that it was the prayers of families all across the world that saved him. I’ll be praying for you, Tyler. Through God all things are possible.
February 13th, 2009 at 1:53 am
I’ll be praying hard! Prayer works miracles and our God is an awsome God! Hang in there Tyler. We’re praying
February 13th, 2009 at 5:57 am

February 13th, 2009 at 8:08 am
Oh Lord, I pray for Tyler right now. I pray that he would be completely healed. Lord, I pray that his healing would be so miraculous that the doctors would have to acknowledge that Your ahnd was in it. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
February 13th, 2009 at 8:10 am

February 13th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
Father God, touch Tyler’s body with Your mighty hand of healing, thank You so so much for the miracles that you have already worked and are continuing to work in his life. God i pray that you would spare him from another surgery, that You would give his body supernatural strength that comes only from You, God, touch him, his family, i thank You so much for their trust and faith in you, Give the doctors wisdom to know exactly what to and that everything would go amazingly well, please let them acknowledge You through all these miracles Lord, and to draw closer to You, speak to them through all this. and thank You so much that You have had all us rebelutionaries come together as an army of prayer warriors. The dark side trembles with the power of prayer, Lord i pray that they would fall flat on their face because they are so scared, God You have given us the power to overcome evil, i pray that we would choose to use that for Your glory, and pray like mighty warriors.
February 13th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Oh man.
God, I pray that you would reach down and touch Tyler’s body. That you would heal his stomach and pancreas, that you would cure the infection from his body, and that you would super-naturally cure him - that the docters would be able to say nothing but “WOW! We didn’t think he was going to make it…WOW!!”
February 13th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Thank you, God, that he’s doing better!
We’re definitely praying for everything to continue improving.

Latest update from Beauty from the Heart:
LATEST: 1/16, 10:56 AM. For all of you who continue to check back for updates on Tyler, thanks for your faithfulness to pray. There isn’t much news to report–Tyler still has avoided surgery, but his pancreas is still leaking enough for concern. He is completely sick of being at the hospital (as you can imagine). We’re hoping that he will soon make definite progress so we can have some idea of when he can come home.
February 16th, 2009 at 1:36 pm

February 16th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Dear Tyler-
There is a wonderful book that might speak to your current season of weary, pain-filled, waiting-on-healing days. It is called “Rose from Brier” by Amy Carmichael. (ISBN# 0-87508-077-4). It is a thoroughly Biblical book that is intended for those who suffer.
I pray that God will offer His encouragement to you & open your eyes to all of His emblems of love, even in a dreary hospital.
Prayerfully, Jackie
PS: Your family might want to contact Ridgecrest Regional Hospital (in Ridgecrest, CA., 93555) for info. on ATV accidents/recovery etc. The doctors there have a lot of experience with that type of trauma, sadly enough, and I wondered if they might have any useful info. for your recovery.
As a 41-year-young-mommy-with-3-children, I have a Mother’s-heart-hope that our Great Lord has preserved your life for His glory & purpose in the future.

I am still praying for you, Tyler. I hope you feel better soon and grow closer to God though this experience.
February 17th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
Katherine, I will be praying for the little five-year-old who is in a coma. Yes, Tyler, please do not venture out on those ATV things anymore! I also know someone in a similar situation; there is a boy named Little Josh, a two-year-old, who had an allergic reaction to cough syrup. He is now in a coma. As far as I know, his parents are not Christians. When I heard this news, I was very troubled. I am glad that Tyler is well on the road to recovery, though! Great is Thy Faithfulness!
February 17th, 2009 at 7:16 pm
Hurrah! Another wonderful update on Tyler!
LATEST: Tuesday, 7:51 PM. Tyler was wheeled outside today for the first time since the accident.
Wow, I am so glad I could cry!(again) Tyler, we are still praying. Praise God that you are healing!

Dear Tyler, I am praying for you. I too have had a lot of surgery on my panceas and stomach. I am praying for you. I am with you. Hang in there. It’s a scary thing you are going through. KNow that God is with you and will never leave you. IN fact, you will probably feel him closer now than ever before. I have contacted my surgeons in Minnesota to see if they can help you. I guess your mo is working on that. I’d like to come and see you if it’s ok. Love in Christ, Kathleen
February 27th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
New update from Beauty from the Heart:
ATEST: Friday, 1:06 PM. This morning, one of the tubes to Tyler’s stomach came out without warning.
I pray God gives you rest soon, Tyler.
February 27th, 2009 at 5:58 pm
Dear Tyler-
I just read today’s update (at BeautyFromTheHeart) & was impacted by the sheer number of days that you have been suffering - 42 days!! A quote from the back of a well-loved book by Elisabeth Elliot says: “Suffering Is Not for Nothing.” The title of the book is, “A Path Through Suffering: discovering the relationship between God’s mercy and our pain.” May I recommend it to you (and your family)? As day #42 melts into day #43 my prayer is that you may be upheld by The Everlasting Arms.
May He mitigate your pain & discomfort speedily. -Jackie

Dear Tyler (& family)-
As for (audio)books that might be good to read during this (lengthy) time ofrecuperation — Perhaps the ‘MITFORD’ series & other books by author JAN KARON would serve to both encourage and ‘wile away the time’ in a ‘non-heavy’ manner* (if you know what I mean). Sometimes books are just ‘too tiring’ to read because of their content or, because they are literally too heavy to hold up. Jan Karon’s books are neither tiring to read nor physically huge (NOR are they, by the way, ‘fluff’). AND there is a whole series of them (most, if not all, on audio - read by a wonderful, male, reader). I have found them ‘restful, yet absorbing’ reading and highly recommend them! (She is a Christian author).
I continue (at the Lord’s prompting) to pray for you “whom pain has sorely tried and who [has] discover[ed] how intricate is the intertwining of spirit, soul, and body.”**
-Jackie
* “But there are times when we feel too tired even to desire; nothing is left in us to be refreshed..” by Amy Carmichael, in her book ROSE FROM BRIER, pg 61 **IBID pg 166 (a great book to read, also)
