Sometimes books are just 'too tiring' to read because of their content or, because they are literally too heavy to hold up. Jan Karon's books are neither tiring to read nor physically huge (NOR are they, by the way, 'fluff'). AND there is a whole series of them (most, if not all, on audio - read by a wonderful, male, reader). I have found them 'restful, yet absorbing' reading and highly recommend them! (She is a Christian author).
