Alex and Courtney
In a slight departure from Brett’s and my normal blog protocol, I am very excited to announce something I’ve wanted to share with all of you. As of this past Easter weekend, I am engaged to my best friend and love of my life, Courtney Edmonds. Lord-willing, we will be married at the beginning of next year. Needless to say, we are both thrilled and so thankful for God’s faithfulness and goodness to us.
Courtney and I met through debate in early 2005 before God took us on separate paths — me to launch the Rebelution and Courtney to study history at Cedarville University — that kept us from seeing or communicating with each other for several years. This past fall, in His perfect timing, God brought us together again. With our parents’ blessing, we discovered a shared vision for our lives, confirmed the deep respect we had felt for each other for so long, and saw that respect turn to love.
We appreciate your prayers for this upcoming year — as Brett and I continue the work of the Rebelution and study at Patrick Henry College, and as Courtney and I prepare for marriage and she joins me in the work God has called me to do.

Wow. God is SO AWESOME!
You know, it’s weird. For so long now I have thought of the two of you (Alex and Brett) as just ordinary teens but with a Godly passion to help others. Older teens, yes, but teens. NOW however, I’m gonna have to switch my perception of you (Alex) as an adult! Brett will still be a kid though…
Of course you will still continue on with the Rebelution!

I will be praying for you both as you prepare for a new chapter in your lives. I’m sure you will be able to accomplish great things for HIS kingdom together.
I have to say a was a little bit surprised when I saw the news because I’ve always thought of you, Alex and Brett, our being about my age (teenagers), then I realized I’m getting older too… it’s a good reminder of one of the reason for doing hard things in our teen years… to prepare ourselves for what God has ahead for (most of) us (e.g. marriage).

Oh, my goodness, Alex! HAHA…what a SURPRISE, and a wonderful one at that! I’m am SO joyous over your engagement to Courtney…what a lovely and sweet looking woman she looks like. I have prayed for both you and Brett to find brides that share your vision and strong faith, after all, the wife must believe in what the husband does to truly be a supportive helpmeet and encourager.

WOW!!! This is sooooooo… exciting! (And awesome!!!) My sister seems to spend a whole ton of time on here. But since she is in Guatemala on a mission trip (age 16) I get to tell her the news! I just wanted to add to my comment that was a month earlier I wish I got to see courtney from where I was sitting at the chicago conference. Alex had introduced her there, and of course everyone was interested in who won the heart of such a devoted man, and who the Lord chose to spend his life with. It was an amazing day, and I think it is great that she got to be there and witness such great things.
for example: 3500 people fit into every seat in the Moody Church
over 45 people make bold professions in Christ
hear such a great message (that of course she has heard from Alex and the family and one that she probably lives out)
seeing her future brother-in-law cry
and witnessing what her hubby-to-be does and how he impacts others lives through Christ
