Free Audio Download: Crazy Love by Francis Chan

This summer I’ve been making a concerted effort to listen to sermons and audiobooks in addition to my regular reading — as a way of redeeming time while running, working out, or driving. It’s been very productive.

I’d been hearing a lot of good things about Francis Chan’s book Crazy Love, so when I heard ChristianAudio.com had made it their Free Audiobook Download for the month of July, I downloaded it immediately. Over the past week I’ve been blessed by Chan’s emphasis on knowing God and pursuing Him passionately — and I figured you would be blessed as well.

To redeem your free audiobook, follow the link below and use the code JUL2009 when checking out. For more information on the book, check out this review by Tim Challies and watch the video introduction below.

Thank you very much guys! A friend has been recommending Crazy Love to me but I couldn’t just accommodate it yet in my reading list. This will be a great help! Thanks so much! Soli Deo Gloria! :)

I’ve been doing similar this summer, as well — in fact, I’m listening to a sermon from my church right now! A couple buddies highly recommended ‘Crazy Love’ a few weeks ago and I’ve been wanting to read it since. I never would have heard of this deal. Thanks so much for posting this. I can’t wait to check it out! :)

I just bought the hard copy of this book not 2 weeks ago! I had heard Francis Chan speak in person at the Passion Conference in 2008, and I love the energy he has. I’m excited about getting to read Crazy Love.
I’ve gotten to where I enjoy reading along while listening to an audio book. I’ve done it with Don’t Waste Your Life, and also used it to practice Spanish - I read my Bible in Spanish while listening to it in English. I just might have to download this one too! Thanks for the heads up!

10. Michelle G Says:

This is an awesome place! Thank you for sharing:)

11. Penny Hunter Says:

Francis is wonderful and the “real deal” as they say. He lives out what he preaches and has taken the “fresh” approach of asking “What if God really means what He says in the Bible - how would this impact my decisions?” Zach has had the privilege of doing events with him, and as a family we can endorse his ministry whole-heartedly.

I especially love an idea he’s developing — the fact that he’s met many college graduates who felt called to ministry, but has found them working jobs to pay off college loans instead of doing what they were called to. He’s encouraging students to get through college debt free and is trying to launch a seminary that is tuition free. I don’t know where that idea is in development, but it is definitely worth watching and reproducing.

Sweetness! Thanks for the link!

13. Juliet Says:

This is so great! God is using Francis Chan and his church in so many amazing ways, and I’m incredibly glad to see this on here! “Crazy Love” is one of the best, (if not the best, besides the Bible,) books I’ve ever read. READ IT!!! Like Penny Hunter said, Francis is the real deal, (which is even more awesome considering his childhood…. but you’ll have to read the book!) and this book will help you to see God the way we should see Him!

20. Christin A. Says:

To Mary up there who’s asking how to download it. You have to create an account first in ChristianAudio.com and then carefully follow the instructions given by the twins. :)

21. Josiah Says:

Hmmm, I like it…we don’t go to church anymore for several reasons…
One of them is what he is talking about…

I have learned more by reading God’s word and knowing what it says, instead of listening to someone preach only half of what the bible is teaching…

22. Andrew Says:

Josiah,

I’m assuming by “Church” you refer to the traditional Sunday Morning Service, not the Body of Christ…

But that’s beside the point. Either way, you may not be receiving the blessings of Fellowship and Corporate Worship.

The whole purpose of the “Church” (I assume you refer to the Sunday Morning Service) is to provide a place for the gathering of believers. Also, you can worship with other Christians. As a bonus, you can learn from a teacher of the Scriptures…not a perfect teacher, (there’s only One of those) but a man who has devoted his life to the study of God’s word.

And those are only a few of the benefits…

All in all, doesn’t it sound like something worth checking out?

At least, the followers of Christ in the Bible thought so…And Christ DID Create and Love the Church, didn’t He?

The Bible says He STILL loves the Church.

23. Kay Morris Says:

Josiah,
There was a time when my family was kind of keeping out of church, too. We weren’t really in agreement with some of the things going on in our church. Occasionaly we went to a friends’ church, but it was early for us, so we weren’t always able to. All of this really hit me hard, because I was always especially encouraged by Sunday sermons and by talking with friends.
During the first while, my attitude about staying out of church was not very good. Definately not a good example for my seven siblings. I had learned to depend on church. It was my support in my spiritual life. God used that time to show me that I don’t NEED church. I NEED God. He is my support, and church is intended to be an encouragement. :)
I do agree with Andrew, but I think maybe God has some things He wants to teach you during this time with no other spiritual influences affecting you. Just keep going and be open to all God has in store for you at this time.
My family is back in church for now, but I don’t have an emotional breakdown whenever we don’t go anymore. Here’s a thought, in the time we weren’t going to church we would sometimes hold church at home. My sisters and I would play piano and everyone would sing, then my dad would read some scriptures and we would all discuss what we thought they meant and how they applied to us. Sometimes as a treat he would let the younger ones pick and read the scriptures for the week.
Anyway, I don’t know if any of this makes sense, but I hope I’ve clearly stated what my thoughts are.:D
In Christ alone,
Kay Morris♫

24. PTL Says:

Thank you so much Alex and/or Brett for posting this. i’d heard of this book and also made the effort to listen to sermons and such while I train for my season starting next month (alot of time to burn). Its funny how the Lord works. I got up early for a long run and my group was mysteriously not there. I sat in my car in a parkinglot alone at five thirty. So, Francis Chan, my ipod and I hit the trails. I found myself crying out of sheer joy, gratitude and conviction on the run listening to the simple truths I’ve known all my life. Its a weird feeling to run, sweat and cry at the same time :P (Haha, thinking back on it, I probably looked very odd this morning) Its cool to have the Spirit move in me and change me and make me realize how much I don’t know. Im finding the more I know, the more i know I dont know! We have such a big God, trying to comprehend or even consider His greatness makes my brain hurt … amazing! God is un-miss-able if your thinking. So, thanks for being a part of that, you guys and your book have really encouraged me.
-Always, eternally, P.T.L.

25. Phillip K. Says:

Josiah: I posted this in response to a similar comment you made a couple weeks ago. In case you didn’t see it, here it is again.

It’s great that you read the Bible and get the whole picture. However, this doesn’t mean that you don’t need to be involved in a church. Look at Hebrews 10:24-25. Being part of a community of believers is a key part of Christian life and God works in the church in ways that don’t happen in personal or family study. I suggest that you find a church that is true to the Bible and also continue your own study. Both are important. There is no such thing as a perfect church just as there are no perfect people, but God instituted and works through the church and he wants believers to be part of a community of fellow believers. That is what I believe, but this matter is really between your family and God.

In Christ,
Phillip

28. Ashley Says:

I just downloaded this book and have been listening to it for the past week or so. It’s been a huge encouragement to me already and I was excited to see you guys recommending it! Thanks so much for your ministry!

29. Kristina P Says:

Thanks for sharing! I’ve found audiobooks a great way to redeem the time.

As to everyone’s discussion about church: I think the point of any argument over imperfections in G_d’s people should be aimed at improving our own walk and our own positive influence amoung the brethern. Not to shun everyone else who is not perfect and jus edify ourselves. Discipleship is not limited to new believers.

30. Alesia Says:

During my one week break from technology, I found out that we own this book.
I’ve added it to my ever growing to-read list and hopefully I’ll be opening it’s covers soon to enjoy it.

It sounds like an awsome book!

God Bless

wow….i cant wait to start reading this book souds great!! =D

32. Alesia Says:

Last night I read 1/2 of “Crazy Love” and it really seemed to trigger something in my heart.
Now I have this unbelievably powerful craving to serve God.
I feel like unless I make use of my never-ending love for Him, I’m wasting it.
I also feel like words can not even begin to describe how much I am loving God right now!
In “Crazy love” Francis Chan says “God Is Eternal. Most of us would probably agree with that statement. But have you ever seriously meditated on what it means? Each of us has a beginning; everything in existence began on a particular day, at a specific time.
Everything that is, but God. He always has been, since before there was an earth, a universe, or even angles. God exists outside of time, and since we are within time, there is no way we will ever totally grasp that concept.
Not being able to fully understand God is frustrating,”
and I agree with him.
It is extremely frustrating for me, not being able to understand exactly how powerful, loving and all together amazing God is!
“Crazy Love” has caused me to seriously look at all the things Gods done in my life, it’s all amazing, yet I don’t deserve ANY of it!
I am a sinner, I was born a sinner, into a world of sin.
But God blesses me so much because He loves me in a way that I’ll never be able to understand! It’s a thrilling thought!

Blessings!
Alesia

33. Alesia Says:

Also, I just wanted to share this link to a video that Francis Chan posted on his site.
I watched the video and I began to feel so overwhelmed.
Seeing those picstures made me realize how powerful and amazing God is, and how so many times during my life, I get mad at Him, or blame Him for my problems!
I started crying watching that video because untill recently, I never truly thought, hard about these things!
Please watch the video, it’s called “The Awe Factor Of God” and it’s amazing!

I love freebies!! <3

37. mbish Says:

I really wanna read it. Sounds great!

38. Catherine Says:

I thought I recognized Francis’ I just want to caution you and your readers. Francis depicting God as “begging us on His knees” for us to accept His forgiveness is a distorted picture of God. He did this in a video I received probably last year. How we view God is extremely important and influences our walk with God.
