Earrings for Life: Raising Money for Crisis Pregnancy Centers

E

Who ever said a young teenager couldn’t make a difference? Well…me…

In 2011, I started a ministry called Earrings for Life. I make earrings and sell them. All of the money goes to crisis pregnancy centers to help women facing unplanned pregnancies. These centers encourage women to choose life instead of abortion for their unborn child. They also give physical, emotional, and financial support. In addition, they provide parenting classes.

My business, if you will, started pretty small. I made about 10 pairs of earrings and sold them to my grandmas…because they were the only people that would buy them! Eventually I made enough decent pairs to where I made $50 from people at church, which I was SO excited about. And the ministry has taken off ever since!

Earrings for Life has raised almost $3,000 in three and a half years! I have spoken to groups ranging from 10 to 200 people, sold at banquets, and met some pretty special people. Oh, and I’ve made earrings…..LOTS of earrings!!!

Earrings for Life has taught me so many different things. It has strengthened my relationship with God, I have seen Him work in many situations, and He has shown me just how powerful He is. In addition, I have learned how to run a business (which means making earrings even when I don’t feel like it), make a speech, and how to step out of my comfort zone!

Let me be clear: Earrings for Life didn’t take off from the start — it took a little while. But I’m so glad I stuck with it. I am excited to see what God is going to do in the future!

If you would like to help me in this ministry, check out the “Earrings for Life” Facebook page, leave a comment, or send me an email at [email protected].

No matter who you are, YOU can make a difference — whether it’s a big or small.
