Project: Strength In Numbers

Hi fellow Rebelutionaries! Our names are Matt, Connor, Jonmarc, and Zach and we are “Strength in Numbers.” Our fathers took us through the book Do Hard Things written by Alex and Brett this past winter. We met one day a week reviewing one to two chapters per week. We grew together as fathers and sons, as friends, expanded our worldview and most importantly we grew closer to the Lord.

We are four guys between 12 and 14 years of age and we were challenged to break out of our comfort zone to do something that will make a lasting difference for others in need.

Our Dad’s challenged us to tackle a major problem in our world. So we are working hard to raise $10,000 by June 11th 2013. The money raised will drill two “fresh water” drinking wells in the under developed country of Nepal (located between China and India). Nepal, along with many other under developed countries struggles daily with disease from unsafe water. The lack of basic sanitation kills more people every year than all forms of violence (including war), 90% of which are little children under 5 years old.

Improved water supply can prevent more than 3.6 percent of global disease, according to the World Health Organization. And this project will not only provide safe drinking water to the community in Nepal, it will also provide jobs digging the wells and then monitoring and maintaining the wells.

We are working with an organization called Charity Water — a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries. 100% of the funds raised go directly to fund the water well project!
